It's already a bit different. KU's beaten KSU 3 times already. OU only beat KU twice in '88.

Do you mean where a #6 seed wins the title? Could Luke Harangody be this year's Danny Manning? Well, since Mike Brey is certainly no Larry Brown, I doubt it.

Seriously, it's more like a 1990 repeat. OU was the #1 overall seed and for their reward, they got to play the most talented #8 seed in NCAA history - a team loaded with McDonald's All-Americans and future NBA players. If OU had won that, it would have gone against a dangerous #4 seed in Arkansas (the team that came out of that bracket). Although Kansas doesn't have anything remotely as difficult in the 2nd round, I find it odd that the #1 overall seed gets put in the most challenging region. They may also have to play the second best #2 seed. I would have thought the #1 overall seed would play the weakest #2 seed.

No kidding. You'd think KU would have gotten Duke's region and had the easiest region instead.
