I like him, and enjoyed his son walking on to OU.

But what got him in our neck of the woods.

Wasn't he Manhatten and St Johns?

His most recent coaching gig was three years at UNM.

James graduated from Highland Park high in the Dallas area. Looks like the family settled in Dallas after Frans coaching tenure was done. That's probably how he got into the big 12 since that's where the conference headquarters are.

i have mixed feelings about Fran as an analyst. he is either saying 1. the refs are letting them play or 2. the refs are doing their jobs and making the calls. both can't really be true at the same time. however, no doubt he is tireless and charismatic in support of the conference.

Also no coach ever makes a mistake. I really like Fran but he isn't the most critical analyst out there. Dakich and he are polar opposites.

I can't stand Dakich. To me, he's the worst. His Big 10 praise, and contempt for the Big 12, are nauseating. He could be calling some mid-level Big 10 game and he'll be fellating those teams as though they're the best 2 teams in the country and there's no team in the Big 12 who's ever close to the same level as the top Big 10 teams.

People complain about Dickie V being a Duke homer. He's nothing like Dakich for the Big 10 and at least Duke is always a premier team.
