I am really down with this SEC idea.

But could a, mostly, non-revenue sport justify that much travel? Maybe OU, or OSU, could join the Mid-American or Southern for wrestling only.

I think that is what HoHum was trying to say. He was just using the Pac 10 schools as an example, not saying where they would go

I think it would be get an NCAA playoff started. There's no way that UT, OU, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc... would sit and let only one team out of the SEC each year get a shot at the BCS championship.

This! I don't think these teams want any part of OU or UT coming in competition wise and since we are not going to see a playoff anytime soon it won't happen. With Boren making that statement also we aren't going anywhere.

Exactly. Its a bad idea. No way those teams want to destroy each other every year and see one of them get the chance to go play an undefeated pac-10, ACC, big east, or big 10 team.

I'm guilty of wasting too many brain cells on this issue.

Here is the deal, B12 is probably not going anywhere, and someone needs to step up and tell Mizzou to pipe down. The penalties for leaving B12 actually make it a losing proposition for a substantial period of time.

That said, B12 should start distributing things more equitably amongst the schools and being proactive.

or better yet....get rid of 'em. I would rather see TCU or Houston or BYU than Mizzooooo in the Big 12. Or maybe Iowa - but no way they would leave the Big 11.

Oops - was so excited about dropping Mizzoo that I screwed up the quote...

Ok, but why would OSU and A&M be interested in playing OU, Texas, Bama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and each other every year? They would be under .500 every season, lol.

Money.

Simply put, if the money is there, I'm sure they'd do it.
