I remember reading something Coach had said about Coach Stoops warning him about feeding the monster that is OU athletics or it will eat you. A large part of the monster is too busy eating right now to bother with anything positive. Me personally, I was glad to see a thread like this last night because I do still believe in Coach, and even the players. I'm already planning what sauce I'm going to use for my crow; I'm thinking maybe A-1.

I agree with all of this.

Capel has enjoyed more success in his field before the age of 35 than probably all of his detractors on here will enjoy in their lifetime. The guys that hired Capel have a proven track record of making good decisions. I think we can be just as good next year as we were bad this year.

I believe that things will change for the better. I also believe that my head will explode like Scanners if we're one month into the season next year and lose 2 games in a crappy tourney and I realize that we haven't.

Yea Scanners! We sure took some smacks to the jaw this year. As a prideful young player (the burger boys) I can not imagine anything being more of a motivator than this season. Hell, Gotlieb called Tiny, Willie, and Tommy over-rated jokes this year on the animal with Rogers. I am certainly not bailing on the staff and players. I believe next year can be quite special if they care enough to make it happen and I think they will.

I've said for quite some time that if the players don't give up and can use this season as a learning experience we will be more than fine in the future. Too much talent (players and coaches) for it to be any other way. Everyone has to just mature and want to take that next step forward.

I mean, I'm an a-hole, so I can't really say that we will be vastly improved. BUT I think we will have a winning record overall. That's definitely a step forward in the right direction.

i'm a positive person, but i'll be damned if i know what to think. on paper, i want this team back. from the good things we've seen, i know it could be a dangerous team. but then i think about only being competitive in three road games, and what attributed to that and some of the disciplining, and i don't feel so hopeful.

i'm not going to have a lot to say over the next several months because i don't call for resignations or for pulling a kid's scholarship. i don't know what the solutions are, because someone else gets the money to do that. they will always have my support in person at home or in spirit on the road. but i expect the path back to the top to be a bit bumpier than what my normal optimistic self would usually believe.
