today, for the first time in many, MANY years...I intentionally chose to watch something other than the OU basketball game.

If my family was told I can guarantee none would believe it.

If you tried to convince my kids of this they'd probably think you a liar.

I enjoy the NFL more than what's happening to OU basketball.

This makes me very sad and I can almost feel the weight of Wayman's stare down upon me and the shaking of his head.
 
I definitely can't blame you. At this point why even watch? It's kind of like if someone locked me in a padded room and forced me to watch episdoes of the Real Housewives of Wherever for all eternity.
 
I flipped over to the Colts Cowboys game during the half, part of me didn't want to flip back. Almost missed the start of the second half it was so frustrating.
 
I agree. Plus the NFL is in one of it's greatest periods ever right now in terms of player skills.

I typically have 2 games on the TV and 2 going on the computer. Right now it's Dallas/Indy on the tube with St Louis/Az and TB/Atl on the computer.
 
If it will make you feel better, I recorded the game on our VCR so I could fast forward through the parts I couldn't bare to watch. I would never have done that in a normal year, but this is not a "normal" OU basketball team.

A VCR? They still have those things around?

We need to take up a collection and get you one of them there new fangled things called a DVR.
 
It's sad. Last year I would watch to just to see how we would lose. Now there's nothing to really care about with OU basketball. I'm sorry but Capel will have to go after this year. There's just no excuse for putting this type of product out there.

LOL! Just checking to see if you were paying attention, topcat.

I meant DVR, of course, but I'm not too proud to accept whatever you want to send on a new one when you take up that collection. I always knew you had a kind heart. ;)
 
It may not be fair on my part though. The NFL has just been so amazing this year...how could anyone expect to compete?

Look at today's offerings: TB in dreamsicle unis playing Atlanta and it goes to the last 2 minutes at the same time as Dallas/Indy in OT...and in 30 minutes Pitt/Baltimore in a real headknocker then Jets/Pats tomorrow night.

Capel better get these boys to fly if he wants to compete with that.
 
Old people often use the term VCR to describe whatever recording device they are using. I cant blame them, they have been using the term "VCR" for like 40 years.

There's a guy that is tearing it up in the NFL and just about 5 or 6 years ago he was one of the top basketball players in the state of Oklahoma in Sam Bradford. That's enough for anyone in this area to watch. I think they will end up winning the NFC West.

I remeber when my parents got their first one in the late 70s. My neighbors got betamax
 
I chose to attend a Volleyball match and missed the game. I can't watch or listen to this three ring circus Capel has put together this year. It pains me way to much. When I come to the board, I'm hoping I'll see the "Capel is fired," thread. I'm sorry, but that's where I'm at.

Not gonna lie, I didn't watch either. And i know its not the players fault, but this team is very difficult to watch

I have seen every Rams game so far this year.
 
I watched the whole game. Yeah, they suck...but they are my team and I will watch and support them forever. Its frustrating, but I know it will get better. Maybe not this year, maybe not under Capel, but it will get better. I survived the Blake years in football, I can survive this!
