I think we can get to 9-9 in Conference. Am I crazy?

We are currently 3-5 in conference play with five home and road games remaining. To get to 9-9 we would have to win at least one and probably two more road games, with Iowa State and Tech being the two best chances at that. Win those two games and hold serve with everyone else except Mizzou at home and there's your 9-9 record.

The next question would then be how close does that put us to the good side of the NCAA bubble? Will the road losses to Cincinnati and OsU come back to haunt us at that point?

If we go 9-9 and win one in the Big 12 Tourney then the Sooners are dancing.

The problem is that getting to 9-9 means no margain for error. We have absolutely got to win the following games:

ISU
@tech
Texas
OSU
TAMU

And have to steal 1 from @ISU, @Texas, or Mizzou

I can't see us winning @KU or @Baylor without some divine intervention.

We may actually have a better chance of beating Mizzou at home than winning in Aimes or Austin due to the nature of Big 12 road games, but man, it's going to be tough to beat the Tigers.

8-10 and we are all but a lock for NIT imo.

I am definitely NOT holding my breath for this one to happen. In fact - I would be overjoyed to finish 8-10. To me that is a major accomplishment coming from where this program was last year.

9-9 would be a fricking miracle and coach should be up for COY honors were that to happen.

Baylor needed some pretty ridiculous outside shooting combined with us making only 3-12 from three to win in Norman.

I think we could win in Waco without divine intervention.

If we manage to win 9 games in this conference as tough as it is, then I am not sure you could pencil us in for a first round exit. Plus, an NCAA would be great for fan support.

I would love to see us sweep either Iowa State or Texas since both of those teams are going to be finishing right near us in the 4-8 spots and would give us a tie breaker.

Personally, I think OU can be better than 11-7 next season. I think OU can compete for the Big XII Championship next season. I am not saying OU will win the Big XII next season but I think they will compete and I think they will be one of the preseason favorites, especially if they finish strong.

KU will likely be without Robinson and definitely without Taylor and Teahan. That is three starters. Missouri loses Ratliff, Matt Pressy, Denmen and English (4 of top 6 players). Baylor likely loses Perry Jones, Quincy Acey and Anthony Jones (3 of top 6 players). KSU loses Samuels and OU swept them this year. ISU loses Allen and Christopher (2 starters). OSU loses Paige and Williams. Texas loses Chapman and Wagmene. Tech is pretty bad and they lose Lewendowski.

OU gains M'Baye, Hield, Hornbeak and Henry. I understand everyone esle gets new players but OU loses no one that plays signficant minutes and picks up three key players. Some are even suggesting M'Baye is the best player on the team.

I think both OSU and OU will be pretty good next season. I always expect KU to be good. It won't be easy but OU should compete for a top spot in the Big XII.
