Just less than 5 to play OU down 5, Crock gets run over no frickin call Horns go up by 7 game over. Capel will never get respect from the Ref.'s until he demands it he won't make it in this league with that Ivy manner he doesn't get the respect.

Good Grief is he French?

Don't compare him to the french, thats just low right there

+1. I can't remember which coach it was, but one coach a year or two ago started storming over towards Capel and stopped dead in his tracks when he realized who he was after.

I really don't think it would benefit Capel to start losing his cool when he preaches to his team to keep it together on the court. Capel may look back at this disaster of a season one day and see it as the one year that made him a better coach.

Yes but you have to stick up for your kids when plays like that happen. Crock was mauled could have been hurt and nothing was called. The guy lowered his shoulder and sent Crock flying.

It did Coach no good to get tossed there, or a technical. He was dealing with Hightower, who's got as quick a trigger as anyone.

Thank you...we were still in the game at that point. He got on the officials to let him know his displeasure with the call, but didn't push too hard. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, we were about to get ran out of the gym but you can't pick up a T in that situation.

I don't think it as much Capel as it is that refs do not respect teams with losing records and you don't get as many calls. The favored team and the home team are usually going to get more respect & therefore more calls. Capel got plenty of respect last yr.

OU has to be 12 points better than the opponent when Ed Hightower is the official.

Tell me that when Crock is sitting on the ground with a broken collarbone. He left his team hanging. Its like a baseball pitcher beaning a batter and the other team ignores it.

He should have got the T very late in the game over that call it was a horrible display of disrespect. The Ref was screaming at Crocker to get up. I would have sat my fat arse down and layed there for awhile if Capel wasn't going to do anything about it. At the point the ref was screaming at Crock I would have called a TO and hammered the zebras.

Beaming?

The best coaches typically know when to get a T just to remind the refs they don't like what's happening. Travis Ford purposefully got a T against Tennessee last year in the tournament, Jerry Sloan and the Zen master pick and choose when to get a tech. Its good coaching I think.

*On edit: Not trying to say Ford is as good as Jerry Sloan or Phil. That's just an example

and capel getting a T during this last games wasn't going to accomplish anything but give them more points. the refs probably would have laughed at him
