Dude is 7-24 over last 31 conference games, 14 of 25 student athletes signed by Capel are already gone.

Assistant Coach takes the axe for cash for play.

Joe C expects more from our BB skipper.

Capel will be fired in KC after loss.

from a financial standpoint i dont see how joe c. can keep him, season ticket renewal will be absoultley the worse in 25 yrs and we want be much better next yr

I pray you are right.

I'm lovin' this glue then, because I bet he gets another year.

Maybe Joe is sniffing glue. If so, then yes, Capel gets another year.

Sorry, but when the program becomes a total joke, then the AD gets some abuse.

my thoughts on capel leaving:
our recruits we might get cezar, & jurick even goff could be GONE. just like when kelvin left..
cam clark would possibly leave...
& we would have to start ALLL OVERRR AGAIN! & be in the SAME position the next couple years...
i know a lot of you dont like capel & thats fine, but i really believe that he can get this turned around. osby could be a really big impact player & if we sign a couple good guys this could all change. we all know it takes ONE player to change a team. just chill out & let capel have one more year.

If you think Osby is the impact player, a) I disagree, and b) he'd still be here for the new coach. Cezar looks doubtful at this point, and while Jurick would be nice, he isn't the type of player that puts us over the top, IMO. Goff doesn't have any better offers, and won't. Heck, maybe our new coach would bring some BETTER players with him. If it's BCG, rumor has it he's been out "recruiting" already, so that when he lands a job, the connections are there.

What kind of glue??Elmers,Gorilla glue,Krazy glue,Super glue???

im just sayin what COULD happen if capel leaves. i never said this IS that is going to happen or WILL happen. just possibilities & i see it doing more harm right now than helping. whos even going to take his place?

Well, thank goodness we didn't keep John Blake when everybody was convinced Roy Williams, Trent Smith, Frank Romero, Josh Norman, Curtis Fagan, etc., were all going to leave if Blake was canned.

Guess what, they all stuck around and led us to a national championship. Now, I know these players aren't capable of that as they are now, but they could all be part of something special if they stick around and help rebuild the program to where it was before it was run into the ground by Jeff Capel.

You never make coaching decisions off what COULD happen with players. That is rule number 1 and Joe knows this, too.

Glue?

Sure. That could happen.

But this could also happen: We fire Capel, land a great coach, and he brings in a couple of top 50 kids that are either undecided, or decide to change their verbal if they are unsigned. That could happen.

I like your scenario better.

Joe won't care about player issues. He will just make a decision based upon what is fair and right for the long term success of the program.

I know some have speculated that the cost of a buyout will keep Jeff at OU. This is false as well. Jeff is way overpaid for this job and even though we would have to pay him a couple million if we fired him, Joe would only pay a new coach about half of what he is paying Jeff, and so he would get his money back in a couple years.

I hope Jeff gets another year. But, money or player issues won't compel Joe's decision.

Also, unless it is a name coach just wanting to coach at OU, and will do it for less than market, Joe isn't hiring a big name/high cost coach. Didn't last time and won't the next time. Look at his past hiring decisions -- stoops and capel. He has a forumula and sticks too it.
