I cant help thinking that we'll get killed on the boards again. Sherri said in the SDSt post game conference that she and the staff have been working all year on rebounding to no effect. It would be amazing if suddenly we started to do what we're supposed to do. Without rebounding I doubt we can win. Most especially against a team as aggressive as UCLA. The score of the first game didnt indicate (to me) how badly we were outplayed. We are going to have to play far tougher than we have so far this year.

I don't really think we will be in for the foul fest that we had in Norman. They out-rebounded us by about twenty. But, Jo had zero. We had one player foul out and three others with four. I think there were something like sixty-five free throws in the game. As WV discovered, that can hurt you in the NCAAs.

UCLA is a very athletic, physical, team. This type of team seems to always cause us problems. I was at the game in Norman and they pushed, shoved, us all over the court. Hopefully this won't be the case tonight. Although I'm not very confident of a win tonight, I think OU will be better prepared and know how to play them much better in this game.

I have unsuccessfully looked for post game press conference quotes or video. Where did you find the info?

Staying out of foul trouble will be crucial. If we do that and have a good shooting night, I think we have a good chance of beating the Bruins.

I found it after several tries on SoonerSports All Access Gameday Central. I dont think it's there now.

It,s so simple. Make those 10 oe so lay up and chip shots and we win.

I already mentioned this on SF.com --- UCLA fans treated us like sh!t when we went out to the Rose Bowl for a game in the fall of 2005. Their team stank, their fanbase was apathetic and their students were still on break, but OMG WE BEAT OU (in a rebuilding year that saw us caught between a Bomar and a hard place), time to remind them all that they live in trailers and married their cousins. **** the Sooners!

so yeah we are about to lose... but i still dream of beating them by 60.

Bump:woot

I wasn't confident either. I figured they would kill us on the boards (+11); Jo would get in foul trouble early and then "we'd" play like chickens with our heads cut off.

I'm not wrong often, but when I am, I'm glad it's about stuff like this. :)

The ladies were awesome tonight! They did a little pushing of their own tonight.
Can you believe 7 turnovers with UCLA damn near wearing our shorts. Great job. :woot

I completely agree, the Sooners were awesome and limiting turnovers was huge.

I still remember when they had us make signs at LNC and UCLA came to visit us one December. A sign that made it on Soonervision (or whatever they call the indoor version) was:

HO HO HO THE BRUINS HAVE GOT TO GO!

:D

At times like this I like to remind my California friends of what Will Rodgers said:

When some Okies went to California during the Dust Bowl, it raised the IQ of both states.

(Not an exact quote but "true" in its essence)
