IMO Joe C. can take a flying leap

thats not what I am saying at all. I am saying that Joe C. can stick any attitude in a sack because some problems hafta be expected hiring a newb coach.

Doesn't mean coach should leave, doesn't blame anyone, just the fact that they need to recognize and not act like "well there's no reason this should have happened".

Coach himself admitted he was faced with unknowns in dealing with the troops this year. If it's a surprise to Joe C that a young coach would face unknowns then Joe C needs to pull his head out.

I don't think the effort level, attitudes and in team issues should EVER be excepted or tolerated. If Joe C is saying that is unacceptable ANY time, I tend to agree. I like the fact he's taking a stand. He's not firing Capel he's saying this behavior is unacceptable. The world needs more of that. Just my opinion.

Guys, come on. People need to get their frustrations out, and not everyone does it the same way.

Some people chop wood; other people punch on a bag, or hit the gym like a hammer; some people go on message boards and vent.

It's all good. One love, people. One love.

and tell me again cool, what is this "attitude"?

oh thats right, the attitude in sittlers mind. good grief.

I just got back from Kansas City and wish to add some perspective to this "grimace" situation. A grimace is a facial expression of disgust or disapproval.

Inside the arena at halftime of our game, and after our game, every OU fan I saw wore a grimace. When I got up Thursday morning and looked in the hotel mirror, I saw a grimace. When I went back to the arena to watch the four quarterfinal games played on Thursday, I once again saw OU fans still there in KC to watch college basketball, and yes, they still displayed the grimace.

Also, my seats were in the lower level corner just above the entrance to the locker room that OU used. Guess what. When the OU team left the floor following the beat-down by OSU, well, each and every member of the OU team and coaching staff had a grimace.

I did not happen to see Joe C. at any time after the game, but you know what .... if Joe C. did in fact have a grimace, then he would have looked a lot like every other OU person I saw in KC.

Since returning from Kansas City where I watched 8 Big-12 tournament games in person, I turned on my computer and this is the first thread that I have read. WHAT A JOKE!! The fact that some second rate sports hack from Tulsa makes a big deal out of ANY OU person in KC having a grimace after this season and after THAT last game is NEWS???? You have got to be kidding me!!

Pretty much sums it up for me; I'd be more upset if Joe C. DIDN'T have a grimace.

Wow, if you took this years Sooner board and swaped it with the last year Sean was coaching OSU for the OSU board then you would have two peas in a pod.

It is quite entertaining this time around though.:woot

don't act all "oh there will be hell to pay" etc...

if you hire a newbie coach then you hafta expect growing pains of some type. it's just not all gonna be sunshine and strawberry cake.

stick your grimace and attitude in a sock Joe C. you are as much to blame if not moreso than anyone else for what happened this year.

even if what you are saying is true, so what? Those two ideas do not have to be mutually exclusive.

My kids, who are younger and make a lot less than Capel, elicit similair responses from me when they make mistakes.

Yes, I know they are going to screw up. No, I am absolutely not happy when they pull off some really boneheaded stunt.

David Boren had the heavier hand in hiring Stoops than Joe C did.

You have NO idea what you are talking about.

I know exactly what I'm talking about, to the point if Joe C. had his way he would have interviewed more candidates after Stoops.
But please argue with me if you know more details than I, cause it would get interesting.

Jeff Capel had four years of coaching experience at a respectable mid-major program. This is his eighth year as a head coach. At some point he is no longer a "newbie coach" going through growing pains. Regardless of his previous experience, however, it's very concerning anytime a team completely melts down in a coach's fourth season at the school. I'm not ready to throw Capel under the bus, but I'm also not going to dismiss what happened this year as being part of normal growing pains, because I really don't think it is.

Romulus knows what he is talking about. Dude has great sources.
