Interesting info from New York Times

The rates the Big 10 Network charge are uniform across all states in their footprint as I understand it. The price isn't negotiable or based on demand.

Maybe you're right that no cable company in Colorado would add a hypothetical Big 12 Network to their plans because no one cares about CSU. I think it's far more likely that it does get added, maybe not immediately, but eventually (according to the link that inspired this thread, CSU has roughly 200,000 fans; I'd think those people would want the network, and I'd bet 200,000 is more than watch a lot of cable channels).

Of course, whether or not Colorado State would garner enough interest in Colorado to convince cable companies to add the Big 12 Network to their basic package is irrelevant, as CSU is not and will not be in the Big 12 and the Big 12 doesn't and probably won't have a network like the BTN.
