It might be best if he does. A redshirt season would give him more time to get back in shape and regain the strength and explosiveness he lost during his months of rehabbing from a major surgery.

This quote also makes me think he could turn out to be the ideal future combo guard who might be capable of backing up at the point two years from now when Jordan is no longer around.

In case some posters on the board don't know, this kid was the #1 rated SG in the state of Texas his junior season. I have a feeling we would not be talking about a possible redshirt season if he had not spent most of his seniorsseason rehabbing from a broken tibia.

We might not have signed him if he hadn't gotten hurt. Oregon was leading for him but our coaches continued to recruit him after the injury. He averaged 20 points and 8 boards as a junior in a tough conference and had a great AAU season. The kid can play.

usedtobe1, I had that same thought but didn't say it. He even said in his interview that our coaches won him over when they continued to recruit him following his injury. It also helped that Khadeem Lattin was at OU.

I really like this kid! I think he's going to be really good someday.

I'm guessing he redshirts. He has Woodard, Isaiah, and Buddy in front of him who will play at least 90 minutes but has to contend with Buford, Odomes, and Walker vying for the other 30 backup minutes. There just isn't enough playing time for 7 perimeter players, and I don't think he will beat out 2 of the 3 backups.

I think he needs to play, even in limited minutes because he missed last year and I am a redshirt fan normally but if he wants to redshirt then sure just don't twist his arm to redshirt.
