Is Edson Avila history?

They were both initially listed, then Avila disappeared about a week ago. Maybe Avila's paperwork just hasn't come in yet. I don't know.

I think it'd be a fairly significant hit to the team if Avila doesn't make it in. He is definitely the more ready to contribute of the two, from what I know.

Hopefully just a paperwork snafu. I was looking forward to seeing Avila. I was kind of expecting him to contribute and be the 2nd big off the bench.

Avila will not be at OU.

Ship has sailed.

What is your source? Ada references James Hale. Gary references Coach Crutchfield. You say this as a fact with no source for your information.

If this is your opinion you should state that. If you have a source to support this statement you should provide that source. What you have done just leaves me (and I suspect others) wondering if you know something are or just an ego maniac that needs to express his opinion as if it is fact.

He's a juco who hasn't made it to campus and whose name has been yanked off the official roster. What source is better than the official roster?

As for assistant coaches engaged in small talk at a practice, means little if anything. They arent authorized to discuss eligibility concerns about individual players.

I have been told that Avila is a partial qualifier, meaning he'd be eligible second semester at the earliest.

When the staff found this out, they have decided it'd be better to save the scholarship for the 2014 class.

Hamilton is good to go and should be on campus before the team comes back from Europe.

Very unfortunate if true. At least Keshaun will be ready. I'm not sure how much he will contribute, but he seems pretty excited on his twitter

He isn't going to make it.

While at practice I spoke to a member of the staff the day before they left for France and asked him is both of the JC centers would make it to Norman and he said both would be here for the fall. Take that for what it is worth.

The thing is, this doesn't make sense. If they've completed their responsibilities, why aren't they here now? At the very least they could be getting moved in and observing practice. It makes no sense for them to be good to go, yet not on campus or in transit.

It makes perfect sense to me. Both have been focusing on their academics at their respective JCs. Neither can arrive in Norman early enough to participate in the European practices. Neither would be making the trip to France.

It is doubtful either would want to be alone in Norman for two weeks while ti team is in Norman. As garyeb2 stated in his 8-5-13 post Coach Crutchfied going home to visit family for two weeks before venturing to Norman definitely makes the most sense.

I feel Kruger wants them in Norman when the team gets back but does not want them alone in Norman with no team members here to help them adjust to being on campus. Boredom could alone on campus could have a negative mental impact.

Sadly, this makes some sense. I didnt know JC could be partial qualifiers. Hopefully something gets worked out. Do JC players have pass the NCAA clearinghouse like HS players?
