Is the All-College Classic Dead?

With the lack of quality teams that it has been able to draw the last few years it was pretty much better off staying in the tournament format. When we had good teams coming to it most years it was not to bad. I think both Michigan State and UConn came to the All College and so did Cincy when they were a great team. The last 7 years or so there just hasn't been any good teams come in.

If they can't get quality opponents anyway, they should focus on local teams. Rotate Tulsa, ORU, N. Texas, Wichita State and even Arkansas, if you can get them. Attendance would be better if the mediocre competition was, at least, local.

There could be a former Big 12 opponent lined up for it this year. Can't confirm 100 percent yet though. Hopefully know more soon.

I think I read somewhere that the plan is to rotate it between OSU and OU each year, with only one team playing in it. Which doesn't really make it a 'Classic' anymore, but whatever, it's been sucking for a while now.

The reason I asked was I noticed that there are not teams scheduled for it yet and OSU has a game the next day...

they are likely still finalizing the schedule for the All College Classic

Hearing some talk that A&M could be OU's All-College opponent.

Is the All-College opponent what's holding up the non-conference schedule from being released?

The current format is driven by ESPN who pays a handsome amount to have it that way.... it's not changing.

I'm pretty sure we're not involved in the All-College this year.

Am I remembering that wrong?
