Almost a guarantee he plays pro ball somewhere, likely in Europe. He should make a nice living.

Isaiah Cousins (6'4'' 200)
PPG: 14.2 (on a team that has a guy averaging 22 and 4 guys over 12)
RPG: 4.6 rebounds per game
APG: 4.5 assists per game
3pt: Shooting 54% from the 3pt line.

If he did a better job at driving to the rim, he would be a fantastic player.... He has only been to the foul line 13 times, which is the least amount of any starter on the team.

Makes me wonder what his numbers would look like if he played for someone like Texas Tech, Kansas State, etc. He plays on a loaded team and still has very good numbers. Put him on those kinds of teams and he may be a 20ppg kind of guy.

I don't know if he is "underrated" or not, but he is a legit player for sure. Definitely a professional basketball player (which doesn't mean NBA).

200 lbs? That makes me question the 6'4". They both will be drafted. Buddy late first and Cousins mid 2nd. They both have earned it.

Both will play in the NBA. I wasn't sure before this season, but both have improved dramatically in the offseason.

I hope they get drafted and make a team. They have definitely worked for it!!

One of the reasons Cousins doesn't get a lot of free shots is that he usually kicks off the ball to an open shooter. He has really done that well this year.

Cousins' pull up jumper is the best I've seen in college hoops this year. That move translates to the pro game.

I think Cousins gets drafted and might even work his way into the late 1st round if he continues to play at this level and the Sooners continue to draw national attention.

Will get drafted before Buddy.

I felt the same way. I see Cousin like Avery Bradley of the Celtics. He will get a look because of his defense, high percentage 3s are just bonus. Buddy is a very good player, but I see him struggle in the NBA. Buddy need to work on getting to the foul line consistently.

I like Isaiah a lot and want him to get drafted. I think he is very good and has proven to be an outstanding percentage shooter, rebounder and defender. Now he seems to handle the ball well. He has respectable size for a PG in the NBA. I think he has a legitimate shot. (But I will acknowledge I typically am not very good in my NBA assessments.)

However, I think many are ignoring the focus placed on Buddy that makes it easier for everyone else to succeed. I don't think many teams have a defensive game plan of making Hield beat them and instead try to limit Hield and make the rest of the team beat them.

If other teams have the game plan to stop Buddy and see if everyone else can beat them then we might go undefeated.

he has elite size for a PG ..

Not sure we want him at the line right now. His biggest weakness is FT shooting. I wonder if he is not a little hesitant to take it to the rack, for fear of ending up at the line. As good a shooter as he is, his FT % is a head scratcher and, obviously, mental. I am sure they are doing a lot to help him, just something you have to work past.

I think he's a better shooter from the line than most people think. Two years ago as a soph, he shot 80.4%. I bet he ends up over 70% this season.

I agree that is not really the best strategy but I bet Buddy gets extra focus from every team or a minimum of that teams best defender.

Part of what makes OU so good is you can't take away one or two players.

Speaking from an NBA perspective (I follow the NBA more than NCAA), I don't think Cousins gets drafted. He's a classic tweener--like 6'-2" (he measured just over 6'-0" barefoot at USA basketball), but with more of a SG mentality and skillset than a PG skillset. He's becoming a good NCAA PG, but he's nowhere near NBA PG level--which is what his size says he needs to be.

Unless he's Isaiah Thomas 2.0, of course. :-) That's another level of ball handling, though.
