It was bad enough

Guys flop for the same reason some coaches yell at the refs...sometimes it pays off. I wouldn't do it but I can see why some do. Blake hit the floor more than necessary but I still loved to watch him play.

So true. And BG took his beats and cheap shots as well, but he was a fairly good actor.

Good for college basketball, bad for OU. Whatever, if we want to get back to being a prominent program you have to beat good teams with good players. Hoping other teams fall to your level is a plan for failure.

With that said, Marcus Smart (and family) has been on the gravy train since high school, waiting another year won't hurt.

It was Tom Izzo's fault, he told him to stay the other night at the Tisdale banquet.

This is so insulting to Marcus Smart. Do you really think a few hundred dollar bills would influence a kid about to make millions? Do you think he is so stupid he doesn't understand the difference between hundreds and millions? He chose to return. I seriously doubt a few hundred dollars had anything to do with the decision.

You're right. The total compensation package is much higher than a few hundred dollars. Boone pays much better than that.

So when OSU fails to win the Big 12 next year how do the fans react to Ford?

They were 4 points away from winning it this year.

KSU won't be nearly as good.
KU wont be any better but I always expect them to win it.

It'll be tough but I'd say 1st or 2nd place finish.

A 1-3 NCAA tourny seed.

My thoughts exactly.

They finish outside the second position it is a bad season (unless the injury bug bites hard). This is the weakest the conference has been in a while.

1. KU
2. KSU
3. Baylor
3. OSU

Take it to the bank. KSU will be good next year.

KSU lost Henriquez, Irving, and most importantly McGruder.

They don't bring anyone in who can score. McGruder was their leading scorer, leading rebounder, and their whole offense went thru them.
No way they finish ahead of OSU.

Baylor is a wild card as always but losing PJ3 has to hurt as does Walton

They have young talent coming in tho.

Austin and Jeffersons decisions will likely decide their fate.

If OSU doesn't finish 1 or 2 in Big 12...it will indeed be a disappointment. Because they were 3rd in conference this past year and had a real shot to win the whole thing going down the stretch.

A more experienced, deep team should surely perform equally or better than last years when you return every key piece. Especially when you consider the Big 12 should be down next year

This news really surprises me. He can only hurt his draft stock, it will be virtually impossible for him to move up. Very puzzling decision. So many things can happen to affect his draft position, and they're all bad.

Blake wasn't in Smart's ballpark when it comes to frequent flops. I'm told he flops more now (I don't watch the NBA that often), but he didn't come close to matching Smart in college.

The Internet fans already hate him. I live in Tulsa where there are more rational Pokes than the Internet ones, and from what I can tell they don't hate him.

However, most seem more interested in Poke football than Poke basketball these days

I don't mind that he's coming back except for the nauseating media hype, it was annoying this year, it's going to be damn near unbearable next year.

And I'm sure they felt the same way about Blake Griffin.

It's all about perspective.

+1:clap

I love OU. Smart is a really good player. OSU will be top 10 preseason rank. They will be good, they will lose some games, we may lose to them twice.

Please be rational fans. Irrational fans want Bob Stoops fired.

Why wouldnt he be hyped? He is really good. Conf POY. All-American. We were super excitied to get BG back for a year. He made the same decision Smart has, turned down Millions of $$$ to live a dream of College. Nothing wrong with that. Im sure he will take out a INS policy to cover anything catastrophic...

Wouldn't it be funny that since the surprise leaked out that they all surprise everyone and go to the NBA instead?

In the middle of OSU's infamously large student union.

With orange clads all watching, ready to cheer.

We're leaving, G2G, bye.

OP.com meltdown in 3...2...1...

Blake didn't get anywhere near the media hype his freshman year that Smart did.

And he wasn't given the Big 12 Player of the Year award. I don't remember him even being considered a serious candidate for it, though his frosh stats match up pretty well with Smart's.

How much do you think Smart and Clark are making combined? You know, the first thing I thought when I heard this was, "Man, Ford had better finish first or second."

I think they will finish first or second in the big 12, but I think it's another first weekend bounce for the aggies. Who knows?
