That four of our non-conference opponents are playing for an auto bid today. UT-Arlington, Ohio, Northwestern St. and SFA.

That's part of the reason why we'll make the tournament. It can't be understated how important our non-conference was to our overall resume.

So true.

It will be interesting to see what OUr schedule looks like next season.

This.

I hope our scheduler continues the trend of scheduling decent mid-majors....and some of those away from home. When you play (and win) at ORU and UTA while other teams are playing Grambling at home, it really differentiates your non-conf. SOS. We should always schedule a tough game or two either in a holiday tournament or the All College.

Or it could be why we get left out. Our RPI is artificially high due to some scheduling gimmicks like playing @ UTA and @ ORU. The committee could very well focus more on our record vs top 65 teams and lack of any wins away from home vs those teams.

We should get in because the field is so bloated with teams. That will be the saving grace.

It wasn't a scheduling gimmick. We actualy played the games and won.

Our RPI isn't artificially high. It's a formula. That's how it works. Our RPI is exactly what it is.

And please get this fake top 65 garbage out of here. You're literally the first person I've ever heard use that arbitrary cutoff.

Don't feed the Bocatroll

Since 2000, Big 12 teams ranked in the top 49 of the final RPI rankings and have double-digit conference victories have always gotten in.

(It might go back further, but accurate RPI rankings heading into the NCAA Tournament from the 1990s were not obtainable.)

The Sooners (20-11) were No. 39 in the RPI on Friday afternoon and they went 11-7 in the Big 12 Conference.

The only Big 12 team that’s ever failed to get in with at least 10 conference wins was Kansas State in 2007. The Wildcats were No. 80 in the RPI that year.

The Sooners will spend that time preparing to play. Even if the historical qualifications they’ve met are shunned by the selection committee, OU will get an NIT bid.

For a program that did exit interviews a few days after the Big 12 tournament the previous three seasons, knowing there’s still at least one more game to play is important.

“I think we did enough to be able to be in,” OU guard Sam Grooms said. “But at the end of the day the committee makes that decision. And we did good enough to play in some kind of post season tournament and we gotta get back to work and prepare for whatever lies ahead.”

It has been a long time coming. No matter what, it will pay dividends in the future to expose the underclassmen to post season play.

I know I am biased as a Sooner fan, but I also think the seniors did enough to get into the big dance. Good luck guys.

While it has seemed like one step forward and two steps back sometimes, it really hasn't been. The team has steadily improved under Coach Kruger and we are all proud of them, especially the seniors, for working hard to get better. I really hope they get in for their sake, as a reward for hard work and the accomplishments that come with it, even if recent play hasn't always looked like they deserve it.

That is big time good luck scheduling. That should solidify our tourney dreams right there. Now, if we just play like we can, we will win our first round game. I think we will.

Yikes. Ohio, UT Arlington and Northwestern State all lost. The only winner was SFA who beat NW St.

You are out of your ever-loving mind.
