OSU better be careful who they hire bc every coach besides Iowa states coach(at least until maybe next weekend) has a coach who has been to the elite 8 or further.

They better be careful in hiring Underwood. He has one win against a power 5 conference in his 3 years at sfa and that was against west Virginia.

Not necessarily afraid, but he could turn TCU into a contender. Success varies based on a variety of factors. FFs don't necessarily equal success. My point is more along the lines of TCU being better in the future than they have been in conference.

Yes, I knew he went to school there. But it's still TCU. And I would assume (maybe wrongly) that he could have had much better options than TCU. I'd almost bet he was overpaid to go to TCU, but we'll most likely never know.

His sister, Maggie, passed away a few years ago and she was head women's coach at Army and had a promising career ahead of her.

Looks like he was born and raised in California (even being a member of the Screen Actors Guild). Even though he played at TCU, I don't see the upside to going to Ft Worth without a boatload of money dangling in front of him.

I don't get your post. Tcu just became relevant just the same way smu did. This could be bad. He was a good recruiter at Pitt. I only imagine what he will do in Texas.

Great coach + Texas recruiting = turning the ship around fast.

Will be interesting to see how it goes, but I bet he succeeds and gets TCU as a regular tournament team, which means yet another player in the Big 12.

This is much the same as the Trent Johnson hire. Dixon was leaking oil at Pitt, as well as clashing with the administration. Now he gets a nice, new contract and a re-setting of the clock.

Good for him. I always kinda liked him. His sister's story was about as gut-wrenching as it gets.

And I don't get yours. Are you saying the Horned Frogs suddenly became relevant because they hired Jamie Dixon as their basketball coach? If so, that's quite an assumption.
