I think he would be awesome. I know that it is a huge stretch, but let's open the wallet. He makes $1.3mm. Go offer him $2mm and let's get a guybthat can get it done...

Jamie Dixon would only be a good second choice if Coach K turns us down.

(How was that, seniorsooner?)

he'd be a great coach ... and we could NEVER get him to come here.

I heard a caller on the Animal in Tulsa that asked about bringing Self to OU. He was totally serious. I expect that kind of insanity from Arky fans, but not OU fans.

Your mistake was listening to the Animal in Tulsa to begin with. The idiocy of the callers is only matched by the ignorance of the on air "personalities". They should just stick to talking about the horse racing at Fair Meadows and next year's Chili Bowl.

I usually don't have to. It's nice having ESPN radio and another local station that plays a lot of national shows. I can escape the local idiots, if I want to.

It does provide some comic relief listening to Pat Jones try to talk about anything other than the sport of football, smoking cigars, or who he is playing golf with currently.

You have to pony up some cash to see if he would come. He is majorly underpaid and our football program actually generates cash, but apparently you all are the types to be defeated before asking. Pitt is not his Alma mater and maybe he wants to get out of big east and get paid. I bet all of you are very successful in business.

Pitt?

My bad, I thought Pitt WAS his alma mater.

I edited this because I ragged on you for saying that. I am a dumbazz.

I agree then. Pony up for jamie Dixon. That guy is a really good coach.

I'd take him over BCG.

didn't know that Pitt wasn't his alma mater but I agreed to offer anyway. what would it hurt to ask. give dude a call.

Don't think he'll be leaving Pitt anytime soon.

MU and Arizona State both tried to pry him away five years ago. He was actually #1 on MU's list (with Anderson the apparent #2). He flirted briefly with both schools, doing interviews, but ultimately was only using them as leverage for a new contract at Pitt.

Why leave the best basketball conference (and one of the best programs in that conference) to rebuild somewhere else? He's got a good thing going. He's not going to leave.

Just saying make a run...
