I'd be happy if he never called another Ou game again. Not only did he make it a point to sensationalize every foul that was called against ku (often the right call), but he missed some egregious ones like the perry Ellis moving screen on the 3 or the missed charge (or at worst a no call) on green when he drove out of control to the bucket in the waning moments.

How about the audacity to pull the announcer's jinx on the buddy free throw? I don't care if it had no effect on buddy missing it, you just don't do that as an announcer. That's day 1 sh1t. It just shows his arrogance and douchebaggery (yeah I just made that up) and reinforces why he is the worst in the business.

Give me duke vitale and booger phelps anyday of the week over that douche.

You think there's an announcer code of conduct regarding what is said before free throws?

Bilas does come across as arrogant and he rubs me the wrong way much of the time. However, I will give him credit in that he is unlike most other commentators in how he is not afraid to call out the officials for bad or missed calls. You may not agree with what he says, but he definitely speaks his mind with conviction.

An example of the above is how he went on about the charge against Hield and how it was absolutely the wrong call. I think he may have harped on that horrible call more than any other in the game.

When Bilas said that about Hield's FT shooting, I turned to my wife and said, "Watch him miss this now." However, I took Bilas' comments as KU has to come up with something for the win now and not that he was trying to jinx Hield.

I always hear people complaining about the TV announcers...It makes me feel better about how I watch the games...Sound off on TV and Toby Rowland on the radio....He gives a lot more insight into OU....

Do the announcers affect the shooters ability to make free throws? In other words you think the jinx is real?

I don't expect osu fans to comprehend what they read, but if you notice I said that has no bearing on why announcers are trained to avoid saying things like what bilas did.

And I don't expect that other OU fans have a screen name that describes both their penis and their brain.

You're unique :)

Who cares that Bilas said that Buddy would make the free throw? If anything, it was a sign of respect. The notion that it jinxed him is ridiculous.

Maybe Bill Raftery is a better college basketball announcer but I don't think so. Bilas is, flat out, the best there is and I hope he calls every game. He shows us elements of the game we're unlikely to notice and isn't afraid to call out the refs when he thinks they're wrong. Do I agree with him every time? Nope. But that's ok. He's the best there is.

I didn't hear what Bilas said before Buddy's free throws because I muted the sound early the game. There wsa a play where we were on offense and one of our players, not sure who it was, hit the floor and was obviously in some pain and didn't get back down court as fast as Bilas thought he should have and he made some comment about our players not hustling. I muted the sound at that point. Bilas alternates between being Captain Obvious and the master of hindsight. He comes across as an arrogant know-it-all. I fervently wish there were a way to watch a game on TV and listen to the crowd noise and the pubic address announcer and mute the commentators.

Bilas is the most annoying color guy in the sport besides Reid Gettys.

I'm sorry, but I love Bilas. He is definitely arrogant and comes off as a total Dukie, but he is extremely intelligent, knows the game, and isn't scared to call out a player, coach, ref, or administrator-- he does so often. He was 100% fair and balanced on Saturday. If you think he was biased, it's probably because you are more biased than he is. I think he's about as good as it gets in college basketball right now.

Your post lost credibility in the bolded statement. No one is ever 100% anything.
