She has LOST it and doesn’t care. These youngins are worse as the year goes on. 5 years of sucky teams and no sign of her having a clue of how to coach.

Sure she USED to coach well but not now. She has ONE player who can shoot and she can’t or won’t set a screen to get her a shot. None of the other players are top level D-1 quality. They don’t know how to pass or how to run a play or how to hit a layup or free throws..... the list goes on and on. That is on the coach. Save 1 million per year and pay someone $200,000 per year and you would easily get what is being put out there now and probably more. She can take all the money OU has put in her pocket and go teach English in high school.

What a sorry excuse for a coach and program now. The ultimate resting on your laurels story. What was there 500 fans in the stands today? No one cares anymore it is like it was when she came here.

K-State has a young team and twice when they screwed up there coach called an immediate time out and chewed their butts - because he Cares. Their young team whipped our young team on our floor.

What a sad place Sherri has allowed our program to go back to

I was quoting the ANNOUNCERS from yesterday. Several times they said K-State also had a YOUNG team, so crap on them lol (still doesn’t matter as every time they did something bad like give up a layup etc he called a timeout immediately and chewed them out = good coaching vs. Sherri not caring). Still doesn’t change the fact that Sherri is terrible now and should be fired or resign asap. It doesn’t take long for anyone to see this, except her I guess. I’m shocked that anyone can defend her, she has driven this program from oblivion to final four to oblivion again. And she needs to GO. So there are your facts LOL.
 
Have you emailed Joe C? or you expect him to come here to read about it?
 
What's his email? I'd be willing to send him one. maybe if he gets enough emails requesting that she be terminated he will actually act on it, haha

Not going to happen! Norman is where coaches come to retire. Joe C. rarely fires anyone. It took Capel having OU in NCAA trouble to get him fired. Rarely is a coach fired at OU. Coale is here til she decides to leave, and for what they pay her, we are stuck with her for a LONG time.

Joe C. has fired coaches. He has made changes in wrestling and women's soccer, volleyball and rowing. And more than once in those sports. I want to include track and field but not sure. Low profile sports, but he has done it. The problem with Sherri is it will be picked up by the media. So he needs a case to prove a change was needed. She is giving him one this year.
 
I can confirm the track & field termination. When I ran at OU we had two co head coaches that were terminated bc they were God awful. The coach he replaced them with was fantastic and a program rebuilder and put the track team back to winning ways, they won the Big 12 within a couple of years of the new coach coming in. I hope he can do this for our WBB program

Castiglione hired Jim VanHootegem July 2013 to replace Martin Smith who left OU to take the ISU head coaching job. Martin replaced co-head coaches Jill Lancaster and Rodney Price whom Castiglione fired.

Joe C. has not fired anyone who has been at OU for 20+ years. However, he really needs to convince Sherri that her best role is as public relations specialist for the athletic department. She needs to take the path of Marita Hynes.

The most senior head coach I know of Castiglione firing are wrestling coach Jack Spates volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo although both were allowed to resign instead. Spates was at OU as head coach for 18 seasons and Restrepo 14 seasons. Some say that Spates actually resigned and was not fired. Some say otherwise.

I do know the insiders that wrestled for Robertson, Evans and Abel in the '50's, '60's and '70's strongly wanted Spates gone. Was Spates fired or resigned? Who knows. Although Spates has remained closely associated with OU and the sport.
