If you are correct and I believe you, then the media and the attorneys that have commented on this have really overstated things. It is completely common to transfer assets to a trust later in life. I actually read an elder law professor say he could not think of a single reason to do this. If he can't think of a single reason to transfer assets to a trust when you are in your 80s, I would contend he knows very lilttle about "elder law". You do it to avoid probate. It should be noted that property held by joint tenants with the right of survivorship generally avoids probate on the first death but this will avoid it on both deaths.
Any one else hear the lawyer interviewed on Finebaum's show on SiriusXM this afternoon? One of his former clients, who was convicted on possession of child pornography called in to argue with the lawyer. Entertaining radio, to say the least.
There is an article in our local paper about the District Attorney in the Penn State area who has been missing since around 2005.
According to the article the DA's daughter was asked why he didn't prosecute Sandusky in the late 90's. She said he didn't feel that they had a good enough case and was concerned that they would lose and Sandusky would skate on double indemnity if they failed to make the case.
Also McCreary now says that he reported the shower incident to the campus police (not a big deal if they were like the OU campus police in my day) but that he also reported it to the local police.
If those things are true then someone should be able to find police reports and case files.
Of course the grand jury proceedings have been leaked to the press who is all over it. Grand Jury proceedings are supposed to be confidential.
It is not hard to believe that Sandusky is guilty, but if the shower incident was reported to the authorities then the Trustees are going to have a lot of egg on their face.

If he called the police and they swept it under the rug, there may be no paperwork. They clearly didn't start a full-blown investigation.
I heard it was only a fraction of the GJ testimony that's been leaked (23 pages out of hundreds). What most of us have read makes it sound like McCreary never contacted them, but perhaps it is in there elsewhere.

One of the reasons Stoops will never leave Oklahoma is because the media is fairly tame compared to the vicious, investigative, prying, intrusive nature of the coasts, especially if the word "Times" is in the name (LA or New York).
