Jones leaning towards Kentucky?

Per his facebook (which I hate to rely on facebook for stuff like this but still)
false i did not commit any where mr jake rosenbuerg has nvr talk to me and has no idea where im going cuz i still dnt lol sorry for the confusion -jonesy

thanks sam! My heart dropped for a bit...we really need this kid...boy we could be very skilled with him and aziz rounding out the class...

Wouldn't be shocked if he ends up going to UK. That's the sexy pick for recruits right now.

Guys I think we should all prepare ourselves now for not getting TJones. I haven't given up hope, but I would put our chances at about 15%.

With Tiny announcing he is staying, I'd drop that to less than 5%. I can't imagine Jones wanting to come in and fight with Tiny, TMG, and possibly WW for shots. I assume Jones thinks he is a 1 or 2 year player, then off to the league, correct?

And before somebody suggests it, Jones isn't a "3". He will play the "4" spot in college.

Thanks Dean. I will keep that completely random percentage in mind if and when I consider this issue.

Nothing RANDOM about it. If you think we're getting Jones with Tiny coming back, keep being delusional. Makes no sense. Just like we wouldn't have gotten Tiny had Blake come back. See how that works? There are exceptions, but not very often.

There is no formula. Just a guesstimate on my part. If we get him, that's great, I'll be dancing in the streets. But I would be quite surprised.

I gotcha....basically just not wanting to get your hopes and not land him? Its tought not to...to think about a lineup having jones being able to play almost any position on the floor...he and ndaiye could instantly make us into a tough tourny team

Exactly. I think now that Tiny is coming back TJones and N'diaye might wind up being mutually exclusive. That would suddenly be a pretty crowded front court with Tiny, Fitz, N'diaye and Jones.

I see what you are saying, but they all four bring different things to the table so I believe we could use all four of them.

Fitz brings that great mid range jumper
Gallon brings the amazing offensive talent downlow
Ndiaye would bring great shotblocking and rebounding capability
Jones can play any position

I can see a lineup with jones at the 3, gallon at the 4, and ndaiye at the 5 (depending on how good ndiaye really is)...so I def think we could use and would benefit from having all these kids

Plus gallon is prob gone after next year if he has a great year, so we need to start getting post players experience

Oh I definitely think we could use both of them and would love to have them, I just think they might be wary of coming to OU if they thought their minutes would be limited. I'm not so much worried about that with TJones as I am N'diaye.

I think SeniorSooner's point is we can't keep putting hopes in a guy that has a list of 5 powerhouse schools. We can just hope he calls our name on signing day and not bank on him as being a contributor. I do concur with jones. I honestly believe he's not leaning anywhere.

Remember Capel's tweet after Cam signed where he said something like " 2 down, and one more to go??? Hmmmmm.......?" I think he thought Jones was going to sign.

I know two more decent sources who thought that as well. Jones also hinted in an article about a month ago he knew where he was going but wanted to wait to sign hoping college coaches would come see and notice his teammates.

Then he took that trip to Washington and all talk that went out the window, IMO. Maybe that school is Washington and Capel is left scratching his head. I think we're in the mix, but I'm not sure if we're sitting in as good of a spot as we once were before the season.

Kentucky will have a mass exodus and Cal will turn up the heat, Oregon will hire a good coach that will likely impress him, and then there's Washington. I just think if we find a couple of solid juco bigs willing to come, we take them. But Capel is a confident guy who may feel like he'll get him and think it's worth holding out for. It's a tough situation, no doubt.

I honestly think the distance is going to be too much when it comes to Terrence. Just my two cents but it will either be Washington or maybe Oregon if they get a coach like Mark Few.

I agree wholeheartedly. I feel like that is a large part of why we're in the situation we're in right now.
