Julius Randle...good news?

Some people think we have a decent shot at Shabazz Muhammed.

A class with both of those guys would be the best in Sooner history. They would have a legit shot at going to the final 4 as frosh, imo.

Shabazz is 2012, Randle is 2013.

Hollisp,
Randle's listed OU for awhile. He liked OU when Capel was here, and it appears that Kruger has kept up what momentum OU had with Randle.

Still the major powers (Duke/UNC/KU) are not going to stop recruiting Randle. It could easily turn out like Harrison Barnes, player likes OU/likes our coaches but wants to be on the big state at a big hoops school.

Sam, what has been you overall view from recruits of Kruger?

I dont think recruits have had much contact with Kruger himself so far, at least that is the impression I have been getting. At this stage it is the assistants doing the groundwork as head coaches tend to be closers after the assistants figure out who really is interested.

I've only talked to some in state kids recently (Woodards, Clark, etc) and they all seem to be really positive about the Sooner staff. Of course that is natural after visiting OU.

The big thing here is the amount of work the assistants are putting in with Oklahoma kids, I believe that will make the OU brand a much bigger name in Oklahoma now. As any kid close to OU caliber is at least going to get looks.

I think that means there will be a lot less Spanglers and Amric Fields who sign early and leave the state after getting no OU looks. Its refreshing to see that the staff is at least in on Oklahoma kids. Guys like Wright and Paras might not end up being OU caliber, but OU is at least willing to bring them and show interest.

Good to see OU is giving the local guys a shot, I don't expect OU to sign every Oklahoma kid but a guy like Spangler should have ended up at OU.

The Harrison twins won't be coming to OU. I know that they've visited on their own but they're absolutely not coming to OU. It's ok to hope for Randle but don't lose any sleep over the prospect of the Harrison twins becoming Sooners.

What makes you say this? Is there something out there to back up your statement?

Is there something "out there?" Like public information? I don't know. I'll just say that it's pretty common knowledge in the Houston area that these 2 are a packaged deal and won't go to "a football school." They're going to end up at Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, somewhere like that. They'd be awesome to have at OU but that's a pipe dream.
