Tennessee is a pretty good squad though, all things considered.
They were just on the wrong side of the bubble along with Kentucky.
Would be, arguably, the equivalent of Baylor offering him (to use a Big 12 example).
Baylor was even further out on the bubble than the Vols.

This is dumb. Based on personnel, we needed a shooter who could mesh with our returning players and fits the culture of the team. Booker can obviously shoot, and is a great kid by all accounts. He's got good size (interchangeable with hield and hornbeak), finishes well around the rim and can defend or Kruger wouldn't have recruited him.

In the late period that's a big get.
