Turgeon wasn't offered
The guy that Joe C was really after was Tim Floyd, who was offered the job

I don't believe this for a second. Floyd has always been known as a renegade "win at all costs" coach when it comes to NCAA rules, even before OJ Mayo. There's absolutely no way Castiglione would have hired that type of coach immediately during/after a major infractions process.

Are you serious? If that's true, we are in bigger trouble than I thought. I can only imagine what ...

In no way is that true. Castiglione is far too smart to hire a coach with extensive, documented troubles following NCAA rules after a major NCAA rules infraction in the program.

Why would you say that? Joe didn't fire Sampson. Kelvin left of his own accord.

I am sure Marshall is a fine coach, but I have the same trepidation that NC State had ... plus I think we need a system coach (DEFENSE) to get back on track.

13 sweaty bodies, an orchestra of squeaks, and the smell of burning rubber as we dig in defensively game-in and game-out.

I'm not really sure what Kelvin has to do with anything I posted. He was gone. We had a vacancy. We were in serious trouble with the NCAA. The last thing Joe C was going to do was hire a coach with a big time history of NCAA compliance problems at that time. That's like begging for the death penalty. Not to mention, OU at that time was significantly expanding its compliance department and turning it over to the university, rather than the athletic department. There's no way those guys or Boren would have approved hiring Tim Floyd at that point.

Obviously Joe and David didn't have a problem with Kelvin or they would have fired him. So why would Tim Floyd have been any different in their minds?

Why the **** would we want a Jayhawk coaching our team?

jesus christ.
