Tulsa Washington junior-to-be Juwan Parker gets offer from new #Sooners coach Lon Kruger. Blog to come

I just talked with Will Jennings who was able to confirm it with Juwan himself.

Juwan is also expected to take an unofficial visit to Norman in the upcoming weeks.

This class for OU has a chance to be a big time class! And most of it can come from here with the borders. Grab one or so from a bordering state and its a monster class!

Would love to see Juwan in the C&C. His brother always impressed me during his time at TU.

Let's just go ahead and grab

Parker
Woodard
Clark
Morris

and then add big Julius Randle. :)

So is Parker's OSU to lose??? If so it would be nice if LK and staff can make headway and change his mind.

OSU has been heavily recruiting Parker for a while now, that gives them an edge. He hasn't even started his junior year of high school yet so OU does have some time to make ground up.

Lot of people close to the TU program feel that he will end up at TU since his father is a professor there.

If that were to workout for TU it would be dream scenario in that they wouldn't have to use a scholarship as I believe employees kids can go tuition paid or has that changed. His brother also was a standout at TU. That said his recruitment is really picking up and he has the attention of some of the big boys. It will be interesting if he keeps raising his stock if he stays in state. Say if a UNC comes calling....... I doubt he picks Ok State over an offer like that.

Why is that? Some kids like to stay closer to home and family.

I personally think he will end up right around the 60-100 range in the rankings and will end up at an Oklahoma school.

His dad is a law school professor at TU, but I believe he was there back when Jason was getting recruited too.

I wouldn't take the family affiliation too seriously; Jason was initially wanting to go to Kansas, but opted to go to TU when Roy Williams decided to offer the guard spot to DeShawn Stevenson instead.

Some do.

But most will go with the historically elite program that contends for final fours over the local team fighting its way through the middle of the pack in the Big 12.

This is a kid that's going to have a list that's a mile long when it's said and done.

OU and OSU have done a fine job landing the top kids in this state over the years.

And I'm not sure how you define "historically" elite but OU is a top 25 all time program and was rated the #12 program of the modern era. Pretty elite to me when you think how many D1 teams there are out there.

OSU isn't too shabby themselves...

Will,

So you think Parker will blow up? I am going to have to go check out some Washington games this year.

Lots of people thought Juwan would go to Memorial just like his brother also. Even the Memorial staff thought that and were shocked when the Parker family knew different. He even had a key to go up and shoot at night at Memorial.

This. More often than not a OK kid will go to UNC, Duke,... over OU or OSU when a real offer is on the table. I would love to see him stay in state and play in Norman and if not for Tulsa. I was just pointing out that his recruitment is picking up steam and some of the elites are noticing. Doesn't mean they will offer yet and OU offering early is big IMO.
