It appears we are in the running for Kate Cain, who signed with Delaware, but was released due to a coaching change. She's 6'5 and averaged 25pts 22 rebs and 8 blocks. Not sure against what kind of competition, but I thinks she'd be a great help. She was ranked #82 overall and #10 by position. Hopefully she can see the opportunity here at OU. She has a solid offer list included West Virginia, Syracuse, and Nebraska. Was describe so as a sleeper and elite in the 2017 class.

Could be a fortunate find. Nebraska also lost a big transfer. Wonder if Indiana and Minnesota also recently lost transfers?

Would seem to be a good fit with what we have coming in this year and next.

Could be a hard sell though since she's from New York. Hopefully distance isn't a factor. Anyone know if we've ever had a player from New York?

Considering Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana, Virginia, and Dayton? Looks like there is some other reason --- like who might have left, immediate vacancy, etc. The closest that I can remember to NY were the players from Canada, right across the river. But, she is from close to the NYC area, but a small town (in comparison). Dairy farming area. Nothing cosmopolitan about Dayton, Nebraska, Minnesota, or Indiana.

#31 in Blue, she has long arms, and she looks physical at about the 20 second mark, you can see her sort of fling a girl going after a rebound, OU could use both of things...

The question is why she went to Delaware. That is almost a kind of rural area for that part of the country, off the beaten track. You have to want to go to Delaware to get there. The reason she went there might benefit OU. Wonder if our visit to nearby Marist got her attention? 44 miles.

Maybe she likes the coach, if you look at the other schools she was looking at most of them have young post players, she could have wanted to be a starter or see a lot of minutes.

Kind of rural but smack dab in the middle of Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City. That's a 225 mile stretch of not so rural.

Sometimes I think OU never even tries to go after a transfer. It's almost like we think if a kid is transferring there's something wrong with THEM. That the can't cut it or are a discpline/work problem.

We are VIRTUALLY NEVER IN ON A KID?

Does anyone really think that's a good thing? Especially since we will barely be able to have enough people to scrimmage against each other for the second time in a decade.

I just don't understand why this program is in the shape that it is.

Syb, are you saying that Treece was a transfer? She has been at OU since her freshman year.

Did Treece actually sign and attend
Kansas State? Or play a minute for them?

I wouldn't call that a transfer, although by the rules it probably is.

Yes, that is EXACTLY the same situation with Treece. I really wish that she would be a viable option for center this upcoming season, it would make me feel a lot for at ease. I mean, what if VPL gets in foul trouble and then EJ does as well? Who would play the post position at that point? Makes me very nervous and to be honest a little angry at SC for not getting out there and recruiting more. I don't think Mulkey was a good player at all and was actually glad she left because in my opinion she would have just been another Nicole Griffin and we needed someone with more game, but now that we only have two big girls i'm really thinking twice about those feelings!
