Capel and his players are dedicated to doing things the right way and their efforts are being rewarded. But we still have the same holes in our rotation that won't be filled until next season.

There will be some bumps in the road, but the roadmap is in place and being executed. Don't let those bumps diminish your appreciation for the progress being achieved.

When ABD comes back from his hiding spell don't fall for his aggy theories that unfortunately too many of you were lured into accepting.

It isn't aggie theories, he was simply stating reality. OU was not very good. The team seems to have gotten better focus, Clark and Blair are playing at a much higher level. Now the team seems to be a middle of the pack the Big XII team. Hopefully that will continue but when the season is over, I doubt OU will win more than 7 conference games. If they win on the road today, I will change that opinion but not by much. Texas and KU are simply better basketball teams. Beating A&M in College Station will be extremely difficult and is unlikely. However, if OU can win in Stoolwater, then you have to believe there is hope for wins in Lubbock, Manhatten and possibly even Missouri (Missouri is clearly the toughest of those three). Home wins against Nebraksa and OSU are also very possible. The upset against Texas, KU or A&M is always possible but it will take a combination of OU playing well and those teams making mistakers (whehter you call them forced or unforced doesn't really matter, they just have to play poorly).

Come on Boca. It wasn't hiding spell. He was just moving....for 4 games...over two weeks....and during the last 3 game winning streak we had.

Boca, while I appreciate your undying optimism, I believe I speak for a number of knowledgable fans and genuine supporters of OU basketball when I say that we weren't being influenced by Aggies or anyone else. This team played like they had no clue through mid January, before finally righting the ship to some degree.

This is not the same team that struggled through the non-conference portion of their season to beat the likes of Northern State, N.C. Central, ORU and Gardner-Webb. This is not the same team that A&M blew out in Norman, or that UT dismantled in Austin.

I'm as pleased as anyone with the turnaround and our four game winning streak. But I'm under no illusions that this is a tournament-caliber team with all of the parts necessary to beat the best teams left on our schedule this year. This team still has plenty of weaknesses; among them, rebounding, post depth, turnovers at times and inconsistent shooting from the perimeter.

At the same time, I believe there are reasons to be optimistic about next year, providing we get a little more help with recruiting in the late signing period. Osby and Goff will help, too. But I don't think they will be enough to put OU back in the running for a conference title or an NCAA post season birth. We still have some holes to fill. That's not meant to be negative, it's a dose of reality that some may not want to hear.

Boca, I like your spirit and optimism about the team but the first half of the season was pathetic. I was down on the team but as a fan I can finally see what you were saying early on about the young guys developing. With Clark being a freshman, then the three sophomores OU has a good base but still needs more talent to compete with the top teams in the big 12.

Transation: OSU is going to run us off the court today.

With all due respect guys. It was total aggy spin to say Travis Ford is a better coach than Jeff Capel. It was total aggy spin to say "Capel can't win without Blake Griffin". It was total Aggy spin to say OU got the wrong guy in Cameron Clark. Etc.

So I am supposed to believe that it was honest assessment for years that everything OSU is roses and everything OU is in a tailspin even though their coach is 6 years older and has 1 NCAA win in his entire career than Capel?

And then the person making the honest assessment disappears off the face of the earth when OU beats Colorado and goes on a 4 game win streak?

Sorry. I'm not buying. The weak got sucked into Aggy spin.

Any bigtime program that had to choose right now between Capel and Ford would choose Capel. Sadly, it might happen at the end of this season.
