Kendra Gillispie 2021

Interesting prospect. Seems to be the type that you want. Big, and plays bigger.

May be a good year in Oklahoma. It seems that Oklahoma had a lot of players that other schools wanted. But, we seemed to have no interest.

Kendra Gillispie has committed to Ole Miss.

The 6-2, four-star standout is rated as the nation's No. 31 overall player in the 2021 class by ESPN.

Gillispie chose the Rebels over offers from Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Tulsa, Oral Roberts, Wichita State, North Texas and several others. She is being recruited by the hometown Oklahoma Sooners but they have not offered.

Probably did not meet the Sherri Coale recruiting profile for whatever reason. We have seen it happen multiple times over the last decade.

As a D-1 WBB you would have to think she will be as high of a prospect as OU will sign in the next 2-3 years. But who knows.

It sounds like Sherri is going hard after Moore, it was posted that Sherri even went over seas to watch Moore play... she’s definitely one of the top players in the 2021 class and would be a get for the program.

Why wouldn't she go overseas to watch her play. Get the athletic department to fund an overseas vacation. Brilliant move on her part.

Your reaching now like really dude! Or girl ?

True but it is a little strange to have to go overseas to watch a Oklahoma girl she should have a very strong relationship with unless there were other players playing there that OU has an in with or attempting to establish a relationship. Traveling overseas is expensive especially for a program losing about $4 millon a year.

I get the impression that they may well be looking overseas at players. It seems that there is a lot of silence among the top 100 HoopGurlz prospects, half of whom haven't said much. I see that a lot of the stuff on Raoul is not relevant to the top programs. I did see that UConn had a couple of guards from Europe.

I, too, think we really want Moore. If you look at the type of players we have been bringing in, if you have Liz and Madi, you really have no place for anyone of lesser quality than Moore They wouldn't compete.

I can see the idea that we mght be able to use a post or a point. I get the impression that we are looking only for the better prospects. Other than Lemon, a JC, I only hear a top six-type point. We may want Moore to the extent that we are willing to go overseas to show support..

I don't know why we would not offer Gillispie. I got the impression that she had wanted an OU offer. I don't really care who she committed to. If we did decide we wanted her, would she return. Isn't there another Norman prospect that we were looking at for next year in the same position?

We are young. I suspect that we will be selective in who we recruit.

Consider also that OU follows Poffenbarger, Verhulst, and Miles. I like Gillespie. I liked Levings. None are going to OU. They could have played the 5, but more realistic 4's.

Going to see a kid play on there high school floor is one one way of letting them know you have interest in them, but going to watch them play over seas is showing a real commitment to that player that you want them... I’m sure that Sherri is looking at others who were on the team, but Moore is probably the biggest fish in the 2020 and 2021 classes Ou has a real chance at signing, she’s top 10 just about everywhere and is gettin attention from some of the big time schools. She is really versatile and would slide right into the starting 3 spot since Ana will be gone by then... I get that everyone is down on Sherri, but I think the all she does is wrong is a little over the top, I’m not her biggest fan since the program has be going down, but I see some improvements being made... I’m sure if Mulkey or Auston went to see Moore play overseas and win gold, everyone would ask why wasn’t Sherri there.

Personally I think if after offering Moore in 2018 when she would not arrive in Norman until the class of 2021 while making an infinite number of appearances observing her in Oklahoma does not tell Moore how important she is to the program a trip to watch her play abroad is going to do very little to change Moore's opinion.

I’m going to guess you’ve never been recruited before?
