1. mr. Woodard had 7 assist and only 2 to's, not bad for a freshman pg huh?!
2. Tyler Neal produced 4 points on 2/2 fg and 4 boards in only 9 minutes of action, very very solid! his play is crucial especially since Hamilton is gone and hopefully he will play consistently well allowing Bennett time to get acclimated to d1 ball:neal

Woodard led the team in minutes played in his first game. He's going to be a bigtime player for us.

Welcome to the board.

I agree strongly on your first point. Disagree on the second. Tyler Neal got schooled several times defensively (as he almost always does) and he made an absolute bonehead play "saving" the ball right to the Bama player for a lay-up. He scares me every time that he is in the game.

That is because the difference in him and Hornbeak at pg is night and day. Nice to finally have a true pg running things, and next year, we need to go find a true backup.

The key stat isn't really a stat. The most important thing to happen is that they passed the "respond to adversity test."

Agreed. Overcoming a 16 point deficit to win going away is impressive to say the least. I would much rather see this team turn up the heat on defense from the get-go, because they won't be able to do that against the top tier teams in conference play. Still, I was extremely pleased with the resilience and toughness our kids put on display in beating Bama.

Nice first post, iamthebest. Welcome to the board!

I agree with your assessment of Tyler Neal. He played well in that game. Hopefully, he will continue to be solid, 'cause we're going to need him this season.
