Khadeem Lattin preparing for expanded role

Not a bad article, except the writer didn't tell us what Khadeem's expanded role on offense will look like. Reading between the lines, he will no doubt be called on to score more points in an effort to fill the void left by TaShawn's departure. The question is, how will he do it?

Did he work on some back-to-the-basket post moves or developing a consistent shot from fifteen and in? Will he put the ball on the floor and drive on defenders when closely guarded? The content of the article was good, especially the part about Spangler's involvement in bringing Lattin along in the off-season. I just wish we had gotten a better picture of how his role will be expanded on offense?

I think you'll see a lot of Khadeem from the elbow, either popping out as a pick and pop guy or shooting that elbow jumper. I also think he'll do a lot of work along the baseline, either shooting a little baseline jumper or working into the low block extended. A lot of face up and drive game with some low post thrown in.

I hope (and trust) his shot falls a lot more often this season. I didn't have a problem with his shot selection last year, but his shooting percentage wasn't very good.

I sort of agree.....In the limited time I saw him Lattin's offensive game in a summer practice, it was as KBaden describes.

I don't think Khadeem will have a lot of low post moves unless it's off quick spin moves. Of course I didn't see how his game developed later in the summer so he could have added some muscle. I just think his game is based more off quickness and athleticism than muscle, so I don't see him with a lot of power low post moves. One of my concerns for our post players is they will depend too much on finesse and not enough power. I think we need some balance there.

Honestly, I think Manyang and Buford will be our best power players.

No reason at all for Lattin not to have developed a little baby hook (jump hook) to score inside. With his length, that would be a real weapon.

Think he will be a pick and pop guy. Face up and hit mid range shots. Kinda a taller Cam Clark.

I hope he can be more of a presence down low. But I'm not sure..
