Kirill Elatontsev

so to make this as simple as possible so you might be able to comprehend....
you don't have any skills.
holst likely has skills similiar to chet....but not on his level.
he obviously wasn't recruited to play like shaq because he's tall.
if you need more explanation...ask your mother..
Skills similar to Chet. How laughable.

Your comments are laughable. You should try harder. Boomer
He didn’t mean skills equal to Chet. He meant small forward type skills as opposed to power forward or center type skills. It was pretty obvious what he meant. You just chose to be you.

Probably! Just glad we have more size and backup. Most of the sec teams have 3 centers.

Boulder, is the thought still that he will play Monday? Sure hope that’s the case because would be awfully tough if his first action is in conference play.

I see him as an insurance policy. One injury, and you're playing with 1 center through SEC play. We need a body, and he has experience playing against higher level competition. Worst case, he can be a 5-7 minutes off the bench big when we have injuries or foul trouble.

Is KR still eligible to redshirt? Just thinking through possible scenarios. Hard to imagine this kid would come in mid season, from Russia, with only 1 semester eligibility to barely play.

Kai? If you play one second of one game in basketball, you can’t redshirt. Football is the only sport you can play in any games and still redshirt.

Also, again, it is almost entirely pointless to redshirt, especially now where these guys transfer on a dime. Screw them. Don't save their eligibility to be used at your future opponents. Never redshirt unless the guy is like your 15th man and hes a project beyond projects. Like that 7'6 kid at Florida or something

Generally agree with you hoopsaustin, but think there can still be kids that need a redshirt, such as atak. Really helped that kid out. He was crazy skinny but really skilled. He used the yesr to put on the weight he needed.

I agree with you to an extent. I will say I am very surprised that little guard Jake Hanson has played in a few games, getting worthless minutes. I don't see him ever getting any meaningful minutes in Norman, but if I were him or his family...I wouldn't want to burn a year that I could use at a smaller school...assuming he transfers at some point. That's been a headscratcher to me. It's not like he didn't have some offers out of HS.

I’m sure he is on board with the plan. And it’s not like a lot of guys want to stay in school five years to play an extra year at a small college. He chose to come to come to a school where he had to know he would only get mopup minutes. Something tells me he is perfectly fine with that.
