So OU has two huge knee injury recovery situations to track this fall.
Maddie Manning - second ACL (different knees) torn on October 25th
Vivi - torn ACL on Feb 20th.

Good News
Maddie was released/cleared by her doctors last week according to Twitter. We have Instagrams of her scrimmaging against Sharane Campbell from last week.
So that's a 6 month rehab.

Every injury is different, but applying a similar curve to Vionise's injury. She should be released/cleared at the end of August. With time to get into game shape by early November. So a contribution from Vionise this year is not a total fantasy.

Bad News/Reminder
Whitney Jones just announced her bball career was over. I'm not sure if she quit or was cut by the Stars. Doesn't really matter we all know why either result happened.
Knee injuries. Whitney was never the same. Never really recovered from the second ACL tear.

I think I read elsewhere that Whitney was cut.

I also think it was her first knee injury that caused her the most problems. It was after her first injury that she had to have microfracture surgery. Microfracture surgery indicates that a person has little or no cartilage left and they are in constant pain. These days, if an athlete escapes without cartilage damage, their prognosis is usally better than if they have cartilage damage.

Whitney Hand a great person and a great Sooner. We should be so lucky to get another like her.

Whitney was a great Sooner without those knee injuries it's not to project an all time Sooner women's hoops career.

But her inability to continue playing hoops at an elite level, is a sobering reminder that Maddie Manning might not be able to just bounce back to her pre injury form.

I seem to remember that Whitney had to undergo a second procedure after the first injury and before the second acl injury. She had recurring problems after the first.

I saw her sister(Hannah) visited Georgetown. I think in a few years. It would be great if Whitney started coaching. Then landed at OU one day. I think she would be great in Texas.

Sorry. The thread didn't show the other posts for some reason when I made my comment.
