Living close to the Kansas/Oklahoma border...I get my share of KU and KSU fans...KU fans are OK....KSU fans are very bitter...Refs screw them..the conference screws them....The networks screw them...a KU fan would know OU was just trying to use the clock up in the 2nd half with a big lead...But KSU fans...."We won the 2nd half!"
From the KSU board
1. We beat Oklahoma in the second half.
2. Bruce was right. We're at a disadvantage playing against a team at their place
when they have a bye week. We've had to go on the road twice now having
played a few days earlier when the home team rested all week.
3. Oklahoma was able to swish a lot of 3's because of the comfortable lead they
had with no pressure.
4. I hope some of you can understand, now, just a little as to why I put up a fuss
in the first half about the officials not giving KSU a break. Our guys cut this 26
point lead down to 11 and got screwed on a call when Oklahoma put up a short
jumper and we got the rebound. The ref called a touch foul. If he lets that go
just like they would've at Bramlage, our guys could have pulled within 8 or 9
with just under 4 minutes to go. If the refs would have called a few more fouls
in the first half, when we were shooting underneath and Oklahoma was up double
digits, it might have turned the momentum somewhat and kept this game within
15. Our guys would have come out with even more energy if they were down
15 instead of over 20.
