Ku's trophy to lose...again

No Reason to be surprised - big 12 lost a lot of good players this past off season.

meh. it is what it is. OU does the same in football. good for them.

I agree, don't worry about Kansas they are what they are. OU is not on the same level as Kansas, just like Kansas is not on OU level at football. Not sure but I would almost bet kansas football only thinks about OU that week of game, we should do the same in basketball.

It is that time...lol.

Yeah...living in kc it sucks...

Oh come on. OU basketball is a million times closer to KU in basketball as they are to us in football. Not even close...

Closer yes but so far away that it really doesn't matter. Record against the hawks over the last 10 years is 2-14 with our only wins in 2012 and 2014. That is a 14.3% winning percentage. But we also won in '05 so our record over the last 20 games is 3-17. Over the last 16 OU vs Kansas football games the hawks' record is 3-13 giving Kansas an 18.8% winning percentage. Kansas won in '95-'97. Over the last 20 games Kansas is 4-16 with another win in '92.

Stick wasn’t saying we were close to being as good as KU in B-BALL, but just that the comparison to KU in football is not a fair comparison. I know it’s frustrating how good KU is and has been... but here’s the thing, how many teams can say their record against KU isn’t similar? They’re know how to win games.

But let’s just see what happens. That was a tough week. We beat KU, and we can beat them, next week is a different week.

Please don't ever compare Kansas football to OU basketball - until we have about 10 consecutive seasons of finishing in last place in the conference. Deal?

OU basketball tradition is better than any blue blood in football except two schools we're on the same level with - Michigan and Ohio State. Kansas football isn't even on the same level as Nebraska basketball...and they've never won an NCAA Tournament game.

This conference race is WIDE open. Kansas is nothing special and is squeaking by teams to win games. They have several losses coming.

Well, the race for second is wide open anyway. Unfortunately, Kansas will win the league by multiple games. Saying they are nothing special is silly. Think of it this way ... if OU was 3-0 on the road, including a win over West Virginia, people on here would be predicting a 15-3 league record. Luck or not, the wins they have in the bank count. And they are more talented than people seem to think. They aren't deep, but if you combine OU's roster and KU's, Trae is probably the only Sooner who would start. We can absolutely beat them, but to act like they are 6-1 by some fluke is just wrong.

I started it...

my whole point was I'm tired of ku winning the bball title like (most likely - at least my non-OU friends) are tired of OU winning the fball title.

I definitely would say OU bball is MUCH better than ku football. In fact OU bball had the longest streak of post-season 28 years I believe, at one time...longer than any blue blood in bball.

The difference between ou and ku in hoops is typically wide but it can be overcome by 1 player like Blake griffin or Trae Young choosing to stay home. It isn’t that simple in football because you have so many more players. Props to KU for their conference dominance but they are not noticeably better than ou this year.

They've lost 1 game in conference. They'll end up with 4/5. So 3/4 more losses coming. They aren't special, but they get the job done, which nobody else in this conference can. And they have the biggest home court advantage.

It's indisputable. Sans KU, OU basketball has the series lead over every team that is or was ever in the Big 12, & all save 2 (KSU & WVU) are by double digits. I probably don't have to mention it, but KU football can't come close to saying that.
