Man, if true, 2.28/yr is a nice pay raise. To be honsest, as much as I liked Buzz, I feel a lot more comfortable paying that kind of $ to a guy with Kruger's experience (assuming he's got plenty of fire left).

Article mentions Theus as Kruger's possible replacement at UNLV.

Those numbers aren't really apples to apples, I know at the least guys like Coach K, Pitino, and Cal have large incentives in their K's along with other add ons which make their total compensation a lot larger then their base salaries.

This does more than just pay Kruger big bucks, it shows we're willing to pay in the future. Which will make hiring the next coach (Hopefully a couple titles and 10 years later) much easier because no one can say we're cheap.

I just remember seeing one that someone put up where K was at $4.3 total and I believe he was #1.

Don't know whose list it was. But I think this would still put LK in the top 10 of that list too.

I believe Anderson just got paid $2.2-Million from Arkansas and Painter just got $2.3-million from Purdue. So it looks like the market price for coaches in that range is pretty similar.

Kruger, Anderson and Painter are all highly respected coaches.
