As for Louisville, they have a gaudy record, but their resume is hollow. They are 5-5 vs the top 50, but they ZERO bad losses. Same with Carolina. Unfortunately for us, we have the potential to have FOUR bad losses at seasons end....especially if K-State keeps tanking it. Let this be a lesson to all of those people who said our losses to Creighton, Washington, and K-State shouldn't matter....bullsh!t. They're dead wrong....those losses almost always come back to bite you when you are trying to get a high seed.

Those losses don't matter if we win at ISU, vs. KU or the Big XII tournament. Committee is always more concerned about who you play and who you beat. A win at ISU trumps any loss on a neutral floor to UW.

All the resume is missing is a statement win.

Agreed in principle. However, none of those losses, in isolation, is costing OU seeding. It's the cumulative effect.

The sad part is, it's only 10 total points in these 4 very winnable games separating OU from a 22-4 (11-3) record, solid top 10 ranking, a half game lead over KU for first in the conference, and a legitimate shot at a #1 seed. It's that close. Can't cry over spilled milk, but hopefully the team learns some lessons from these losses---have to bring the focus and intensity to every possession of every game if you intend to play at a championship level.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, however, when we are being compared to team A who has a similar resume and we are both fighting for the last 3 seed.....then the number of bad losses can certainly come into play at some point in the process. I wasn't necessarily focusing on the loss to UW, I am more concerned about K-State tanking (RPI rising above 100) and our latest two losses to them. That would give us 4 bad losses. That's not what you want when you are trying to make an argument over a similar team in order to get a higher seed.

If we do go 3-1 to finish the season (with either a win @ISU or vs. KU) and win a game in the Big 12 tournament.....and if we don't get a 3 seed after those results, then I think it is fair to look at those "four" bad losses together as being one of the main culprits for not getting the higher seed (i.e. a 3 seed).

You can make the same argument if we win out and get to the championship game of the Big 12 tournament. I believe at that point, we are in the conversation for a 2 seed, but there would be only one thing holding us back....those bad losses.

And yes I agree, we need a statement win....that has the potential to cure a few of those bad losses....if some other things fall our way as well.

Then lets continue the momentum from Tuesday and turn this into a 14 game winning streak
