Lexi Gordon

Both of her parents went to TCU but I don't know where she is leaning.

Baylor never gave her an offer......but the rumor is that she will be going to UCONN

Gordon claims to have a final list of Baylor, Texas, TCU and Uconn.

However, just a few weeks ago, when Baylor was playing at UT in one of the biggest games of the season, Gordon and and her family were visiting Uconn. What does that tell you?

A visit is nice but that does not mean she is going to Baylor. We will know today.

If Baylor never gave her an offer, why would they be in her final? Just curious, it really doesn't make sense.

I know that Baylor didn't offer her and I also said she would take the UConn offer. Baylor told her family after that list that she did not have an offer on the table.....another reason I was told she committed so early to UConn.

Thanks for clearing that up. Was just curious seeing how Baylor was on her final.

What position do you see her playing in college? Sounds like she can score in the post and shoot 3's... Maybe a young Maya Moore, I think she'll end up a top 10 recruit when the rankings are updated and the best player out of Texas in the whole 2017 after 4 years of college...

It is interesting that Baylor's recruiting has reached the level that they aren't offering kids that UCONN wants.

while skills does have information, I don't think that's 100% the case here.

Don't think it's that......really feel that it's her style vs what a coach may may want. Mulkey loves a kid who will play defense and Lexi really isn't that big on playing hard like that. Geno loves shooters and run a lot of sets for a shooter...so Lexi will be good for his system. Remember the other kid he had in Lewis? She was a shooter and that's all she really did. She didn't get any time in the pros though.

Full disclosure, I'm a UConn fan first and foremost. I'm also a fan of WCBB generally, and particularly OU. I love Sherri and have read and enjoyed this board for a couple of years. I haven't felt compelled to register and post until I read this one.

Yes, Geno loves shooters. I wish there were more college coaches who love shooters like Geno does. As Geno often says, the objective is to put the ball in the basket, hence the name of the game. Texas shot less than 30% last night and it wasn't all about Baylor's defense.

I really don't understand the suggestion that Lexi is not big on playing hard defensively and that's okay with Geno but not Mulkey. If Lexi doesn't play hard defensively she won't play at UConn. From what I've been told she understands that. Every year UConn is one of the best defensive teams in the country and players quickly learn that there are two ends of the court. Lou Samuelson earned the reputation as a great shooter and poor defender and she's grown tremendously on defense this season. The reality is that very, very few high school players are good defenders.

Finally, a few words on Mosqueda-Lewis. Saying that shooting is all she really did misrepresents her college career. She developed in to an outstanding rebounder as a guard and also was an excellent passer. Although never a great defender, her defense improved considerably during her career. She was an All-American and 3-time national champion. Her biggest issue now, as a professional, is her lack of fitness. She played sparingly as a rookie for Seattle and certainly was disappointed. If she ever commits fully to dropping pounds and becoming quicker, she'll become a better defender and a very good professional player. I hope that happens because the game needs shooters.

Apologies for the long post but felt a need to respond.

Great post! Anyone that watches UConn or Geno knows they play great defense too, in addition to having great shooters!
