List: Top 20 most hated college basketball players ever

James Thomas UT

he sure did play good against us. that's for sure.

i didn't like Jeff Boschee or Brady Morningstar much. Jacque Vaughn in this category a bit....KU PG's who had a nice FR year and then hyped to the end of time for the next 3 years.

Sasha Kaun was a player I disliked a lot. He mugged our guys for years. commit 8 fouls a game. 10 at AFH.

I kinda liked Chris Mihm....I mean, who else could Victor Avila go off for double diggies against more than once. hey ho, get em Boomer Sooner Victor!

Jeff Turgeon, ugh. I did sort of enjoy him bailing on Texas A$M tho.

I wonder if Sherri (Buben) Coale and Jan Ross have some stories about watching Rodman play at the Eagles' Nest, after their games were done. I knew Dan Hays' mom when she was still living (she made it to the age of 96), and she said, "That Rodman - he's just EVIL!" For me, I remember being amazed that a guy (Rodman) wanted to fight a guy in a small college game just for battling him for a rebound.

I didn't dislike anyone on those OCU teams of that era, but I sure got sick of hearing about how they were the best team in Oklahoma while living in the OKC Metro.

I posted a few years ago the local radio station in KC, 810, interviewed Falkenstein after he retired and asked him about the incident. One of the producers on 810 is an OU grad. He said they never cut the nets down in the LNC and the coach previous to Larry Brown would never allow that. What he didn't realize or had forgotten is that was that coaches last win at KU as he had already resigned under pressure and he was an OU grad.

If Falkenstein is still alive he must have alzheimers because it did happen. My brother was there.

I think you're the one who posted what I read about it. Kudos for verifying it. I'm going to also assume that Falkenstein thinks Tubbs flipped off the crowd in Lawrence in '84, and in reality he wasn't even the one who was accused of it at the time (Choo Kennedy was, for waving a Big 8 champs ring that belonged to Mike Anderson at them).

Don't know why these guys slipped my mind:

- the Henry family of OKC, who all went to Kansas. I especially dislike Carl for things I've heard he's done to (A) badmouth OU every chance he got, and (B) tried to influence in-state kids away from OU. The latter case may be something I just thought I'd heard, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I can't believe no one mentioned Danny Manning. Add in Milt Newton from that team. For me they are the Sqwak standouts and I've had them crammed down my throat for almost 45 years. I can't stand them. You might as well toss in Max Falkenstein, Bullhorn Bob Davis, and Greg Gurley Man. As well as Easy Ed Hightower..There have been others I disliked just for the fact they were so good. Living in Vegas for 15 years eased the daily pain as well as their last NC. Nothing takes away 1988.

Doug Smith was a killer for MU. It seemed as if he was there for ten years. Stepho and Sunvold killed us when Wayman was here and we couldn't beat them. Throw in Norm and Boomer Bain as possibly the worst fan base ever and they're easy to hate.

I never had a problem with Redding. I didn't like Kruger because he was so good. He was an assassian. The one I couldn't stand was Hartman. The only solace I got from him was that Billy Ball and Johnny Orr drove him crazy.
Right. All OU fans should start with Manning, the original whiner.

It's interesting that nobody has mentioned Bill Russell or Bad News Barnes.

Some of the older posters remember some of the thugs at Missouri when Stormin' Norm Stewart was the coach there. My personal "most disliked" was a guard Jason Sutherland who got under everyone's skin from '94-97'. Heck, even the current coach Kim Anderson wasn't a choir boy. Norm's teams played physical basketball.

On a national scale Joakim Noah was near the top and Patrick Ewing was in there somewhere.

Most of mine are already mentioned, but a few others who come to mind for me are Loren Meyer & Jackson Vroman from ISU, & Brian Montonati from OSU.

Clarence Gilbert from MU wasn't exactly a choirboy either at times.
