I would be utterly astonished if she were not a bit hesitant in her movements, somewhat inhibited, afraid at some level that she would get hurt again. TWO acl injuries? Not fair. I still think she will make a very good basketball player unless the healing, both mental and physical, takes too long. To see her playing in a game, she just LOOKS like a basketball player. I am really pulling for her to regain her form(we could use her).

I agree, she does look like a basketball player. I certainly hope she becomes the player we all hope she can be.

My heart breaks for this kid; to not be able to do something she's done her whole life and that she loves so much.

I hope she can come back and be a leader and contributor. Whitney was never the same after he first or second. I hope that isn't the case for Maddie.

Her limited minutes, however, indicate she is pretty far from being any kind of factor until much later in this season.

Sherri loves her. You know that. You can just tell. The fact she isn't playing her means one thing to me. She's afraid Maddie will get hurt again or will have another injury and she's just not far enough along to risk it.

I wonder, since she's redshirted already (I believe that's correct), if she could ultimately apply for another year through a hardship/medical effort -- even though I know most women athletes just graduate and move on.

I really think we could use her grit on the court. Here's hoping she recovers and has some fun on the court again.

I would like to ask Sherri some questions about this. From what I have seen, Maddie is light years ahead of anyone else that we have at one valuable commodity that we haven't had since Dales. Maddie sees the court. Already, in limited playing time, she has zipped some passes into the middle that nobody else could have done. I've watched us try, and fail, since we got Courtney. Maddie can also rebound.

I don't know about her lateral movement. That is probably where any anxiety would manifest itself. The ACL injuries come from planting and having the leg shift laterally. Maddie is rather thin, and she is concerned enough to wear braces.

But, Maddie has an attitude that also precludes danger, and Sherri says she is a force in the locker room. You are going to have to find a good reason to keep the best passer on the team on the bench when you are trying to have a motion offense.

It's the issue of lateral quickness.
It never comes back for women's hoops ACL injuries.
Dales is maybe the only one that I've seen it happen.
The game is too fast too athletic.
She's not played in two years and only played in a handful of college games before then.
She's a true freshman with two years of rust and rehab.

I'm hoping for the great comeback story.
But the odds are against Maddie.

Probably true but if wishes work she is due for a miraculous recovery.

There are others who have recovered, just not at OU. The recent advances have made it more likely.

Not everyone can have every asset and capability. Maddie may be (?) limited on lateral movement, but she may still be a tremendous player due to her other assets.

If any kid ever deserved some good fortune it would be Maddie. I'm hoping she can overcome these injuries and be the player she wants to be. It's been a real tough road for her and one that a lot of kids couldn't handle. I hope with all my heart that she makes it all the way back.

I am pulling for her - and I expect she will make a steady recovery. I just hope Sherri gives her the minutes.

Based on what Morgan said, it's possible Maddie will not play tomorrow.

Maddie is funnier when she's sick

Maddie is the most interesting and exciting player on the roster, IMO.
I truly hope she is able to regain her pre-injury skill level and confidence. Healthy and confident, she is a total difference maker.
I'm pulling for her big time, as I'm sure we all are.

I can't even see Maddie on the bench. What's up with that?
