Mankin

He's a savvy player and has good skills. I don't think he'll break the regular rotation this year unless he can play at the 4, which is going to depend wholly on matchups and foul trouble.

Over the course of his career I think he'll end up getting a few minutes per game.

In addition to his basketball savvy, he's 6'7" and can really shoot the rock. I agree that he will get some minutes over his career.

He is definitely not your average, run of the mill walk-on.

Mankin is and will be a nice solid player. However it isn't likely that he would see the floor before Woodard, Buddy, Cousins, Hornbeak, Spangler, Bennett, Cam, or Tyler. If we need a guard, Booker would get in 1st. If we need a big, Hamilton would be in 1st.

He has gotten a lot of work over the last few weeks with the 1's and 2's. Kruger has been getting him ready to be ready in case he is ever needed. I think he will be. He is probably a year away from being as good or better than Tyler. That might not be good enough to make the 8 man rotation even then.

Agree with this, except I'd just go ahead and say Mankin wouldn't see the floor before Booker or Hamilton either. So that would put him 11th on the depth chart, at best. He "may" see some PT this year if we have an injury or two, or severe foul trouble. And this year is probably his best shot at playing. I expect the roster to only get more talented and deeper in the upcoming years.

But what does that say about the overall talent level of our team? He looked as good or better that some of our JUCO's a few years back. It is a slow process but we are getting better.
