Carlisle is probably the second best coach in the league behind Pop. Not that far behind though.

That's a legit starting 5. They need to add some depth but they played the Spurs tougher than anybody and should be better depending on the health of Chandler.

Before this offseason I would have said they paid too much. But literally every free agent (minus lebron) has been paid too much this offseason

Parsons' salary is too high, but it's not bad at all for three years. It's a tradeoff of a higher average salary in exchange for fewer years, so even if it's an overpay, it's not going to kill Dallas' long-term flexibility. Overbidding is also what you have to do when trying to steal a restricted FA, and given that hit that the rival Rockets were taking either way (matching would have killed Houston's flexibility; not matching results in Houston losing it's top trade asset--and a very good young player--for nothing), it was worth it.

That's not a bad starting lineup, and with a coach like Carlisle, they can put a scare into a top west team, possibly even win a round; however, I can't see that team winning three series in the Western Conference. They were terrible defensively, and I don't think Tyson Chandler alone can turn it into a championship-level defense at this point in his career.
