I know it may take a little while before he hits his stride, but as of yet, he hasn't lived up to the pre-season hype. He seems athletic, and a decent defender, but what else can we expect from him? So far, he doesn't appear to be a good shooter or ball handler, and doesn't seem to be a dominant post player. My question is for those that have seen him in practice...What has he shown in practice that we haven't seen yet in a game? What kind of player will we be getting once he finally gets rolling? A shooter? Slasher? Low post scorer?

I had expected him to be more of a small forward type with a decent mid-range jumper. A guy that can drive the lane and get to the bucket, maybe drawing some fouls and getting to the line.

He doesn't look like the player I expected him to be, thats for damn sure.

He is floating a little too much right now. This team needs points in the paint and he should lead the charge with Osby.

People were complaining about Osby until Big 12 play last year as well. After missing year it takes nearly 1/2 a year for almost every transfer

I've seen this a few times on this board. No one was complaining about Osby this time of year. He had a double-double in his first two games, shot 50% nearly every early game and didn't have the turnover issues M'baye seems to have.

Go back and look 12 or so games into the season.....there were a ton of posts about how Osby wasn't that great and not nearly close to the accolades Capel and others had given him the year before

I just did check to see the ton of threads. There was literally zero. I saw one thread calling Osby our strongest player. Pages 68-71 are threads from around this time last year.

Osby may not have been as great as people had expected last season..but he was arguably our best player. M'Baye is not even close to being our best player at the moment.

M'Baye is typical Euro Style. Smooth, skilled and has athleticism and size. He just needs to get that dog in him. He's not physical and he isn't aggressive.

He reminds me of Ace McGhee when he first came to OU. Hope he evolves like Ace.
