Football question

You're high imo. GMs dont hang their hats on backup QBs.. they want winners. No one wants to buy the losing horse..
I guess my point is that he could have transferred anywhere and been successful. Jalen Hurts puts in work to get better. Wants he sets a goal, he achieves it.
Even at OU, there we lots of grumblings about his passing. Eagles fans grumble too. He is just a winner

So you think Mayfield, Murray, and Williams were starting NFL QB's before they ever played for Riley?

That's an interesting take.
No, that would be silly. I think they would have been starting NFL QBs by they time they got out of college no matter where they went because they are super talented.

Absolutely. He could have turned pro after that and been a 3rd or 4th rounder. His year at OU certainly helped his draft stock, but anybody pretending he wasn't on NFL radars simply doesn't know what they're talking about.

I've never seen a backup QB drafted in the 3rd or 4th round before, and Hurts would not have been the first. He simply was not that accurate a passer. He still had some accuracy issues at OU, but he got better as the year went on and there became enough of sample size to push him into the 2nd round - a Heisman runner-up will often grab ones attention. I understand why people strongly dislike Lincoln Riley. I root against USC as well because of him...I also believe the single worst coaching decision made in my lifetime was when he brought out Siebert in OT against Georgia on "4th and 1"...but I'm still not going to dismiss his accomplishments in developing QBs at OU. More importantly, Jalen Hurts does not dismiss them. And his opinion on LR far outweighs any of ours.

Facts. Hell Philly fans about to turn on him still.

The two biggest chirpers toward the success and improvement of Jalen Hurts are Cedarian Lamb and AJ Brown. The guy improved by leaps and bounds while he was here.

Regarding Mateer and Texas: anybody who watched the Kent State game knew John would play unless he was tethered to an IV pole.
