MBB Transfer Portal Thread: Moser Year 4

TE4T budget funded NIL squad additions

Marcus Hill (SG)
Chris Manon (bench) (SG)
Tucker Anderson (SF)
Pedulla (PG)
/Garrison (C) (if not, Obhiona, Beagle, Gateretse, or I love me some David Skogman)

I think I have a tourney team.

We aren't making the tournament with Godwin as our starter, sorry.

Option 1

Pedulla/Forsythe
Elvis/Cooper
Scott/Cole/Atak
Moore/Northweather/Atak
Garrison/Godwin/Keita

You'd have one more scholarship to use. Another SF/SG type would make sense or an additional PG/SG type.

Option 2

Pedulla/Forsythe
transfer 2G/Elvis/Cooper
Scott/Cole/Atak
Moore/Northweather/Atak
Godwin/transfer big/Keita

This is a lot tougher because there's no way to know who OU would target at starting/backup C or 2G (or what they'd do altogether).

Cooper can play both 2 and 3. Scott could even kick down to the 4 at times. Northweather can be the C at times. Etc. There's some versatility in both lineups.
Ugh, both just dont feel as good as this years roster...do they? Garrison is a huge uptick though with Godwin depth...but still. If they can gel and play together, they can surprise people. You cant have an Uzan v. McCollum situation

JMO but with both options, the glaring need seems to be "another bucket getter".

We have hindsight to use so it's tough but neither option looks better, on paper, than last year.

Ole Miss has G Alijah Martin (FAU) on campus. They're being predicted to land him. They supposedly lead for G Pop Isaacs (Tech). Unless something's changed Pedulla is still being listed as a weekend visitor as well. Might be why he's in Charlotte. Fly there, visit someone else, like Clemson, on his way to Ole Miss (or he's flying from Charlotte to Miss).

I didn't think they had any open scholarships. They'll have to nudge out a kid or two.

We could absolutely make the tourney with Sam starting. It all depends on how the rest of the roster shakes out of course but to say we aren't making a tourney based on one player who imo isn't nearly as bad as some of you make him out to be is just silly

Well okay then! If Godwin is our starter and we make the tournament you can come back in here and slam me, but he's not good enough to be an SEC starting center in my opinion and in the opinion of a lot of people on this message board. YMMV

What OU absolutely shouldn't do is be caught with their pants down on Garrison (and Pedulla for that matter).

Stall on Elvis. Tell him to wait on committing. Maybe a week or so. If he doesn't like it, you can find another kid with his talent.

Why? If you lose out on Garrison, that frees up more money. You could get better at the 2 spot.

They should have a list of 5+ other big men they'd target. Maybe they do. I have no idea who the next option would be, though.
No pants are down!

I can’t stop thinking about this post and I want to leave it alone, but 😂
As you read on the discord, it sounds the only actual issue that could prevent OU from landing Scott is NIL-related. Supposedly asking for more than $500K. Which is just yuck.

Not saying he won't commit. Everyone's predicting him to be a Sooner.

Hahaha that's insane
