of the conference expansion bubble teams.

The Fedex CEO whose son plays QB for Memphis said Fedex would contribute $10mil per year to a BCS conference that admitted Memphis.

I saw that on the scroll on the bottom during the OU baseball game. Would that not violate some type of NCAA rule?

I don't know...I don't see why though. If the Memphis athletic department budgeted $10 million a year to a BCS conference or had the conference withhold $10 million a year of their share and then Fed Ex donated $10 million to the department every year wouldn't it be just another donation?

No clue, that's why I asked.

Fedex could sponsor the conference directly. There are lots of ways for Fedex and the conference to both get a bang for that buck.

I know SEC members like Miss St, Arkansas, Tennessee don't want Memphis in the game. If they get in a major conference they could really get strong fast at the expense of those schools.

Since Fedex is no long sponsoring the Orange Bowl, they would use $10 million a year to sponsor a conference. Get ready for the remnants of the Big-XII, MWC and Memphis to form the new Fedex-16 conference.
