This is always fun.

Each Sooner provides the name of a teammate for 28 different questions.

Junior walk-on T.J. Franklin was voted best leader by example and co-hardest worker.

Sept. 26, 2010

NORMAN, Okla. -- Want to know more about the individual players on the 2010-11 Oklahoma men's basketball team? With so many new faces on the squad, most Sooner fans probably feel a need to answer that question with a "yes."

Well, SoonerSports.com went to the best source for providing details on the OU players: the players themselves.

It has become a tradition that Jeff Capel's OU team participates in a fun preseason player poll, whereby team members supply the name of a teammate for various categories. This feature shows a side of the players you don't necessarily see on the court -- the personalities, interests and non-basketball talents (and in some cases, inabilities) of this year's Sooners.

Self votes are not allowed and only players with at least two tallies in a category are shown below. Here are this year's results:

Some interesting ones

Who’s the best overall athlete?
Romero Osby – 9 votes
Cameron Clark – 3 votes
Tyler Neal – 2 votes

Who the funniest (not on purpose)?
Abdul Ahmed – 12 votes

Who’s the best vocal leader?
Nick Thompson – 11 votes
Cade Davis – 3 votes

Who’s the best dunker?
Tyler Neal – 8.5 votes
Romero Osby – 6 votes

There are a lot more.

I absolutely LOVE reading these every year. And there were some VERY interesting (and cool, and exciting) results on that poll.

Thanks for posting!

Tyler Neal is more athletic than expected.

Re: Men's Baskeball Player Poll

Tyler Neal is the best dunker? :facepalm

Dang, I hate having players come in who have to sit out a year.

Free Romero Osby!

Re: Men's Baskeball Player Poll

Seems like a low blow to say Cade ain't the vocal leader, someone broke his face! Hard to talk from behind a mask. Just like the Matrix - "what good is a phone call if you are unable to speak?"

Maybe Cade isnt the leader type?

Re: Men's Baskeball Player Poll

Rather than focus on why Cade didn't finish first in being a "vocal leader" I'd rather focus on how impressive it is that Nick Thompson is already getting that kind of respect from his teammates. Very impressive.

Re: Men's Baskeball Player Poll

What makes you say that? He was second in both categories dealing with leadership....

2nd in vocal leadership, 3rd place in leader by example. This wouldn't be a bad thing if he hadn't been here 3 years longer than Nick Thompson.
