A chance two OU prospects in Stevie "Scooter" Clark and top 25 player for the class of 2012, Marcus Smart. The schedule comes out Tuesday. OKC Douglass already has a huge crowd headed to the game and has already reserved a bunch of tickets.

Should be a great game. Douglass is stacked but people who are talking about them being the best team ever from the metro are crazy. They may not even be in the Top 5. I wish we could have seen them with someone like Tommie Griffin coaching them, they have no discipline whatsoever.

It will be interesting to see how they matchup with Smart. They don't really have a guy like him.

Coach Long is a good coach and good person. I guarantee you Tommie Griffin would have a different opinion on the subject than you.

I agree though, they're not the best metro team. They have talented depth top to bottom though with Stevie, Dorrian, Manuel, the Jenkins Twins, Hill, and Vontay. Stevie's older brother also plays on that team. I was watching a kid this summer and I was sitting next to his dad. This kid was burning it up from three point range. I was telling his dad that he was pretty good. I asked his dad if he was looking to get some major PT next year and his dad laughed and simply said, he plays for Douglass. My opinion would probably go with some of the Midwest City teams as the best, especially with DLo and Sheldon. PCO with Xavier and Keith Clark or even CJ and Hayden would rank high in my opinion. McGuiness had some killer teams and though Sante Fe may not be considered Metro, but Obi, Udoh, Combs and that group would be high in my opinion as well.

After watching Douglass play it would be really hard to call him a good coach. They play with absolutely zero discipline and run no offense at all. You could argue that their kids can be difficult to coach but I saw Tommie Griffin's John Marshall teams play and they were extremely well coached and disciplined.

Just from my era of watching OKC bball I would go with (I consider the suburbs as Metro):

96' John Marshall (Adkins, Heard, Hall, Tate, Cooper) Undefeated State Champs, major D-1 talent

'02 or '03 PCO (Smith family, Hayden, Burtschi)

'02 MWC (Williams & Alexander)

'99 McGuinness (Crawford, Amous, Bluitt, Merritt)

I think those teams would have beaten Douglass pretty soundly. Douglass has a lot of talent but they are soft inside. The Twins are athletic but get pushed around and Hill is extremely soft. Guys like Sheldon Williams, Marques Hayden, or Terrance Crawford would abuse those kids under the rim.

The Thanksgiving Shootout is an amazing event. All day Friday you get to see the best teams in the DFW area along with a lot of talented out of town teams.

You have Julius Randle's Plano Prestonwood also in the event, Kimball with Jarion Henry, Ricardson Berkner with Kendall Harris and Grace Prep with Isiah Austin, Jamal Branch and Jelon Hornbreak. Plus a lot of other teams.

I echo Sam's sentiments. Great event. Glenn puts a ton of effort into bringing as much talent to the metroplex as he can, to go against some of the area's best. If you like HS hoops and/or want to see how AAU talent looks in a more formal environment with different pressures involved, it's a super place to pass the time.
