Mike Francesa Says Lloyd Noble Loudest Arena Ever

Ha, yes. I'm sure I've romanticized the memory a little. Maybe 2 hours is a stretch. As I am becoming increasingly aware, that was a LONG time ago.

It sucks doesn't it. I guess it beats the alternative of not getting older.

We were there at least two hours early some times in order to be on the court. They didn't always have the courtside seats. Just for the big games.

Another one that rocked, at least late in the game, was that game with Arkansas back in December of 2000. OU was almost dead in the water, down eight with about two minutes to go in regulation when Hollis Price and Aaron McGhee came alive and got the game into OT. Once we got there, it was OVER!

The place was kind of dead at times, but that run late in regulation just rattled the roof. And this was a late-December game, too (school out).

It was a great time during the Tisdale years through Billy's teams that were ranked number 1.
All of the UNLV games were great! One of those teams had Mark Wade at point who had started his career at OU. Great passer who couldn't shoot.
The NC State game with Charles Shackleford, Chris Washburn and some Greek 7 footer was fun. Biggest team that I ever saw in person. Remember the Greek guy coming into the baseline bleachers pre game because they were call him "Greek geek". This was warmups before the officials were on the court so about an hour before tip.

Missouri game in 83 with Sundvold and Stepanovich vs. Tisdale was loud but we couldn't finish.

College basketball was better in general during those days than it is now.
